I have a feeling there will be one awesome breakin run after this. I know of four (possibly five) Hummers going through some major suspension surgery. Can't wait to get them all on the same trail.

Looking forward to updates. I'm looking for a dana 44 to start stockpiling my own parts now. How did you come to decide on 5.13s?

5.38s make the pinion smaller and weaker so 5.13s is a happy medium between pinion strength and gearing for bigger tires. For you seeing you have an alpha 5.13s will make yours a rocket. for me it will make it stock like again. 4.88s can work for you too

I was thinking about 5.13s, I've just read so much recently and everyone has a different opinion...you know, guys that swear you need a dana 60 to go bigger than 35s, and guys who run 40s on their dana 30.

Very cool parents! Tires will be 37x12.5x16. Most 37s measure under 37 but these measure to a 37.2 where the KM2 365 (38s) measure to 37.6 so I wont be far off from a 38. Stock rims too...Tires are Interco Trxus M/T.

Not sure on the bumpstops yet. Need to see if the new rancho owner needs em or not.

Todays progress was painstakingly slow. Went to the metal store for steering box sleeves and was there for hours due to a moron at the counter. I also got some crossmember stuff...

Ok so 4speedfunk is defintely going to shake his head on this one but the jeep guys talked me into it....Ugh O! Thats the first problem lol

I cut off the stock crossmember that holds up the t case...With the solid axle swaps I have seen all link suspensions are limited by arm length with the stock crossmember. That was one of the complaints the white H3T SAS the old owner said it was a rougher ride then his long armed JK due to shorter arms. Not sure how true it is but I said what the hell no one has done it before so lets just try...I probably will regret it with the time its taking....

2x4x3/16 is the main portion. 1x4 is the short piece that is connected to the stock t case mount.

Here it is

Plan is to continue to add 1/4 plate with holes and then weld to the ends of the piece in the picture above then make that removable and use more 2x4x3/16 to mount to the side of the frame rail. Then add some gussets between the frame rail and fixed mount. Then it will allow me to put the lowers anywhere I want and the uppers are limited by the new crossmember but it will still make the links much longer.

Problem is driveshaft clearance in the picture above I notched it, it does clear but barely. I want some more legroom can I continue to cut the back side like I did to the front then plate it all in and be ok from a strength standpoint?
