I think with that 3.5L he's going to happy enough with 35s. That's a lot of rubber to roll.

LOL, Yea...

Heres my take on it...35's are here to stay. If I was a mall crawler 37's would go on but I wheel and for the happiness of the I5, front end and fellow wheelers 37s arent gonna work. I will only go to 37's if I can come up with solutions for the following...

Diff and regear
Halfshafts
Tierods
Steering rack

If I can solve those I am all in :)

This build is neverending and always changing so I wont count out 37's but other changes will be needed. For now I will wheel the piss out of the rancho lift until one day I decide to go bebe or recon status

This post brings me much happiness. I am so glad you thought this through. We have read the horror stories of people putting too big of wheels with bad results. Yeah, 37s will look good but you like to wheel. Looks better driving off the trail with 35s rather than being towed out with 37s.

Ahhh **** that. Stuff some 40's under there and see what breaks on the first launch. Anything that breaks needs to be upgraded anyways. Then stick your 35's back on and wheel with absolutely no worries.

how about mattracks that are the size of a 32" ;)

Going to wrap up some last minute things and take her for the first drive! I am off work today, saturday and sunday! Anyone wanna go wheeling I gotta test this out...I am just gonna try the 1.5's for now...if I lose a tire there almost needing a replacement anyways so I dont mind for now. Gotta still call and get 1.75s. Trying to decide if I should get 1.75 for all 4 or just the front...Not sure if there is a difference by the naked eye. I luckily have a buyer for the 1.5's Thanks solar!

Going to pick up my YJ shackles too.

Just took the first test drive! Nothing bad happened so thats good :) lol

I see a few adjustments needed that may be affecting the ride...Alignment, shackles resting on the aftermarket hitch and the torsion bars could be adjusted a tad...otherwise I feel really really tall :hans:

I will give you guys a good review before you buy one...no reviews yet since my test drive was about a 1/2 mile of pavement...

Looks great Chirs! Loving the factory wheels . Have you considered getting a factory trail hitch to avoid using extended shackles? You can pick them up on CL for $75-100. You could trim your factory bumper cover to accept the hitch to avoid buying a new bumper or use it as an excuse to get a Thorparts :).

Thanks guys! Solar you are the research guru...you have info for everything followed by a link lol.

I just did a 5 mile test drive. Got up to freeway speed about 75...It feels really stable and even went to a dirt spot where there was a mound...Climbed it at an angle to compare to stock. Off camber I felt more stable. Who knows how it will feel on the trail but from what I remember I was leaning like a bastard last time in the same spot. This time I felt stable! More testing will determine a permanent answer.

My compliant...It is bouncing like a SOB. It doesnt feel like the front is but it feels like the rear end is bouncing...Could this be the shackle hitting the hitch? Solar I will search for factory hitches but I am sure you will find one in so cal before I do.

My guess is the poor ride quality is from the shackles ridding on the trailer hitch. Do you hear the shackle bottoming out? I searched CL and couldn’t find anything local to you but I found one close to me for $75. I send the seller and email. If it turns out to be in fact a factory trailer hitch, I will let you know and I would be willing to pick it up and arrange shipping.
