As I'm starting to really get into the process of building up my rig and I'm going through the things I'm going to do next, I realize that some things aren't worth it. So the question I have for you is...

What is/are the worst mods you have done to your 3 (or any Hummer)? Something you expected to be very useful or a great addition, but actually ended up falling flat.

Chrome...adding lots of chrome lol...alright it was cool at night at the club picking up the local psycho girls. But after getting married it became useless as well hard to maintain and replace lol...true story.

not sure I regret any of my mods...back in the day I painted emblems and stuff like that, kinda worthless but then again it didnt cost much.

Anything that takes a ton of time with very little return for on/off road performance I guess.

If it's not functional, it's not going on the truck. I think a little chrome can look good, imo the chrome grill, wheels, brush guard, etc look good on certain color trucks but I draw the line at the stick-on stuff. I regret getting a roof basket and not a flat roof rack and I would have gotten a bigger cfm e-fan or duals with baffle.

Lol, you must have hung out with classier ladies than I did. I didn't even need chrome. Once they figured out the H2 had heated rear seats, it was on. haha. Now I'm married and never should have sold the '04 H2 I had.

For me the worthless ones were the factory grill and roof lights, I never did install the roof lights and resold them for $100 less then what I paid. They are nice but for the price you can pay half the for LEDs and get way more output.

Haha, Panzer I like the way you think! The best free mod you could ever do - Don't Drive Drunk! Fold down those seats and have a little fun right where you are. The THORParts rear seat delete kit might be responsible for a few children.

painted a bunch of trim with bedliner. turned out like complete ass... bubbled up bad. sanded it down, and it did it again... now its real bad.. i need new mirrors cause mine are wobbling really bad so i may just get new handles too. but not worth the hassle. probably gonna raptor-line the few other pieces. and hopefully that works better. it looks awesome, till the bubbles appear.

I heard that lol...unfortunately now with my daughter I can use hat bracket lol...and with another on on the way. They won't go down anymore in a good while. Not to mention that my shepherd has claim the trunk as his spot too. So I'm either going to get a roof basket or a spare tire basket...they all little terrorist slowly invading my truck's space lol.

Thanks CP. Sorry but I had to cut a few mods that may have been dear to your heart. These didn't make the top ten, as they are only "semi" worthless...

Roof-top tents
Brushguards big enough to require a hinge to get to the motor
Vinyl wood-grain exterior kit
Wheel-spacers
Oil pan drain valves
K&N air filters
Multiple spare tires
Winches larger than 9500 lbs
Slide-out drawer systems
Cyclone pre-filters
Snorkels
Cutting holes in the hood to improve cooling
Steel winch cables
Beadlocks
Hydrogen-based MPG boosters
Split fire spark plugs
Anything Royal Purple
Buying an extended warranty

...I guess it's a good thing that you didn't put blackened chrome hood louver and door handles on the list and offended everyone, including my wife...my wife still thinks that was the best mod she ever did to her H3! Way better than the UCP that has yet to serve any purpose on her H3! whaaaaat...as they say, happy wife, happy life!

All good and fun. I have 3 from your list and their not worthless yet... Spacers, needed for the lift. They were cheaper than new rims. Rear shock skids also, cheaper than SOA but, still protected tho and this just looks cool, I think. My smoked front lenses. The orange just doesn't match, its fugly on the black...
