Thanks Greg! I will be working all weekend so if you gotta go shopping stop by. I may even be able to take my lunch during that time to go into detail.

So I drove her today and it felt great, stability feels fine and it doesnt lean as much as I thought it would especially without the rear sway bar on. I am dying to flex it out but am playing it safe so I dont crack the end of the T case or ruin my brake lines, I will order some crowns tomorrow. I still havent felt any axle wrap but I had my brother drive and could see the spring push upwards a bit on the front end of the spring. Not sure if thats axle wrap or not. I will try and drive around to see if I can feel it but so far I dont. My concern is that is prevalent in our application with the research I have done axlewrap is most common is soft rate springs and high torque vehicles, while we arent ridiculously torquey I can say in 4lo it can put some power to the ground and our springs are very soft. Anyone knows what axlewrap feels like?

If I do have axlewrap I can add a antiwrap bar. At first I was totally against this as it would hinder all the clearance I just gained but after doing some searching around there are ways that I can run the bar near the driveline and keeping it tucked away. Dont wanna jump the gun with an antiwrap bar yet if I dont need it just keeping all possible options open and making sure I dont hurt everything in the clearance dept for all the work I just did. I just got concerned with the spring pushing upwards a bit.

I also cranked the t bars up to 26.5 and the rear is around 28 possibly a tad under. I will post pics of the front end angles as I want to keep them within oem spec. Here is a pic with the tbar cranked back up to rancho spec.

I probably have another 100 lbs worth of tools that arent in the back which should help. Clearance is awesome but the added height does worry me about COG. Hopefully the added flex will help in that department but so far on the road it feels more stable then before. WTF!

37s are totally do able and I think I could even squeeze in 38s but I am staying at 35s. Now that I have chopped **** up who knows where it will bring me next. I cant wait for the added off road ability and seeing that I have so much time invested in squeaky shes not going anywhere for quite sometime. :)

My first real freeway test will be going to work on friday, tomorrow I am going to disneyland with my girlfriend, I wanted to take squeaky but shes worried that the 100 mile trek is too much for the lack of testing I have done and that we wont make it to the happiest place on earth!

Nice virgin white H3, your next project?

I actually would love to pick up an old beat up 06 as a trail rig. Roll cage spring over no doors and go crazy with a welder and tube bender. That wont be for sometime though...I love the DD aspect of the rig now but my next vehicle will be a hummer also.

If you want to test the COG issue, I know a nice little spot by Red Rock Canyon . . .

That place officially scares me!

Thanks guys...

Hunner, she's pretty cool she doesn't mind wheeling and was understanding that I lived in the driveway for 4 days when I was off instead of giving her all that time. Which is also another plus lol but we all know how girls are so we shall see where this goes...

That is a sweet set up. Your only making me want to do my projects more and more after seeing yours! sadly I don't have the mech experience that you do so I have someone helping me do mine and I'm pretty much gonna be a wrench monkey, but I should learn a lot while we do it! But hot damn if squeaky don't look amazing!

Watch and learn and ask questions that's the best way to do it

From the first day I had my truck, the people at HXC(most of the notable switched to over here), took me under their wing and answered my questions, told me what parts to buy, how to install them and had patience with me in my first trip to moab and every trip thereafer. Names like Sewie, Beebs, Neo, Alec, Speedy, F5, David, Timgco, Rugged: everyone has had a lot of patience to answer my questions and let me learn from them. I have a sh*t lot of fun with my truck now, and continue to learn from them on every subsequent trip. +100 on the build man! and +1000 for everyone who pitched into help 06

Thanks! I appreciate all the help and that is what makes this forum great, there are a lot of cool people around here.

I have seen your rig and the mods you have done when I was in moab and while it sucks hummer doesnt have aftermarket support the uniqueness to our rigs does make it more fun for us because we have to figure this **** out on our own. It is fun to say the least, I have just as much fun troubleshooting and building as I do wheeling, then I find the next part on the truck that is the hold up on the trail and then modify that and then cycles to the next part.

As for the current update on the spring over I took my first longer drive and it drives really smooth and nice I have some sway but I still dont have the sway bar on. I want the rear to be lowered a bit so I will run this setup for now and may look into a custom pack not sure how much lower I can get it. My biggest concern is stability. While the height wont matter on flat rock gardens with big boulders it will in other aspects of my rig. I dont want compromises, it needs to be stable in mud pits, high speed desert prerunning, jumping, daily driving, and even taking me and my friends to the slopes because they have 2WD lol. Wherever I go the rig goes with me so its a multi purpose rig and I want it to do atleast decent in every aspect. For now, it looks tall who knows how it will perform, I wont make any changes until I have a reason to but bebe has wheeled her truck all over moab, the rubicon and the fordyce in a spring over with a rack on top (like me) and she has managed to keep hers from rolling over.

O and I just ordered my new brakelines! 4in over stock plus I still have the rancho brakeline bracket which nets 2inches over stock so I have about 6in over stock which should allow me to flex with no worries, now all I need is the driveshaft.

Sounds good to me...Seeing you have a rancho lift now be prepared to keep your current 1.25in lift shackles handy. Your gonna need em.

This was the one that the guy bought in Wisconsin brought it to CA had it for a few months and sold it to someone else. I saw this rig once in person driving on the other side of the road. From what I was told it is still in my area, I really wanna do a height comparison.

wow, this truck looks like it works well! details?

Nice...that one has the perfect H3 stance. Nice skids too...I'm liking that rear diff skid. However, I think there is such a thing as too much flex, and my rear suspension currently twists up just like this one. Other vehicles need crazy flex to keep all the rubber on the ground but, I'm so used to wheeling the H3 and working with the computer instead of fighting it...that I now actually prefer a stiffer suspension. If I gotta tricycle once in awhile...its okay, I still keep up with flexy rigs on the trail without all the penalties that the extra flex brings on the pavement. The H3's traction system is just plain awesome once you get the hang of it, and it makes up for the lack of travel. Even though I'm all about the SA nowdays, I still think IFS is the way to go...providing you can build one that can stay together (Bebe).

Notice this guy has a striped driveshaft?...something I too was concerned with, and I don't want my rear axle to drift that far off center. I plan to re-install my rear sway bar to help control some of the lateral movement, and reduce some of the flex. I might install some limit straps on the rear if I can't get control of it. Look at the close-up of the shackles...Youch! Flex is soo cool but, I question the usability of having this much unless it is a dedicated crawler rig. My H3 is a daily driver, and maybe that is the where the difference of opinion comes from. Either way...these photos show what can be done with fairly minor mods. The H3 will flex...you just gotta turn it loose!

Hopefully there are ten other guys crawling under H3's right now to do the SOA mod. I have yet to find anyone that didn't like the result.

I may be totally off base here but I feel some rollovers are because of too much flex. The suspension unloads and bam...your on your side

Back in the muscle car era people would add "ladder" bars to the rear end that ran parallel to the drive shaft and attached at a pivot point in line with the front universal joint to transfer the counter torque from hard acceleration to the frame. They called them ladder bars because they used a truss design to minimize weight. I have a 1985 Chevy Monza with a small block V8 that came stock with one, but it was stamped steel. I think you could add an anti-wrap bar that would double as a driveshaft shield with an insignificant reduction in ground clearance. Still if it isn't broke don't fix it.
