I haven't used mine a lot, but when I've used it, it's saved me some winch/shovel work.... though when it went clank, that was before I had actually ever used it (still breaking in gears) so I was more than a little concerned I'd broken it

Do you guys know the OD of the bearings/races? The info on JEGS has 2 sizes listed. A smaller set and a larger set... I'm thinking about getting the locker and bearings/races and taking that to a shop. They should have access to the necessary shims if they need em... Other than that, it should just be labor.

I just put a Detroit in an 8.6 and it said the same thing. Not knowing for sure what bearings came in the install kit, I ordered the ones recommended by Jeg's. Turns out they are the same sizes that are included in the master install kit.

I would order the install kit first before wasting money on bearings you probably don't need. Also, it sounds like you may be better off having this done at a shop.
