Part of their prep is sanding and cleaning the surface but if you have paint peeling I guess you could sand it off or take a wire wheel to it really quick

I need to get it back down to plastic. It's bubbling up under the bedliner and I dunno what would happen if they coated over it.... Last time I used a little hand sander. What do you think I could use to strip the trim without messing up the paint?

Yep. I think it's the primer they told me to use. I used regular rustoleum prime on a couple pieces and they seem ok. I'm done missing with this crap. I'm gonna see about getting ALL of my trim done... And both my Thorparts bumpers.

I used no primer and got A+ results.

Wonder if I can get something for my dremel? I'll probably have to tape the sh!t outta the surrounding areas so I don't scratch the paint...

You can get a little wire wheel that will fit a mandrel made for a dremel, but it would be much easier with a drill. Is want to remove the pieces if possible

I really don't wanna pull everything off... I'll probably see if I can have them do as much stuff on the truck as possible. I'll just mask everything off real good for them. I'll take the bumpers, grill and some other pieces off and bring them to them on another trip. I'll probably have to break this up since it'll probably be expensive.

You know the door handles come off right?

Id call around or visit some linex dealers around you to talk about pricing because it will vary location to location.

Oh man, I almost died laughing at that mask job! You definitely don't want to have to fight getting the door handle rod back together. It is not my favorite thing about H3 ownership.

The first time I did my trim, I spent about an hour afterwards cleaning off overspray... Wasn't gonna do that again... Went to harbor freight and got this plastic for like $15.

That's definitely the right way to do it. It looks comical but it's the only way to do it. If you just tape off you are bound to get over spray.

took some pictures on a construction site, trying to find somewhere I could make sure everything was solid with the SOA, and this was the only thing I could find in the middle of the city.

Everything is still great with the Line-X. Only downfall ive noticed is that for some reason birds love to crap on the H3 all the time now for some reason. Theyre probably jealous.

I measured the rear today and I am about 1 inch higher than the front. My half shafts are parallel with the ground so I'm going to raise the front another .5" or by cranking the T-Bars and see how it measures out then.

In my opinion, I think you over-modded your H3 ... looks tacky and over-done. I liked your Rig back before you went nuts with mods.

deff not i think the linex looks badass and it could really take a beating going thru some trails before it tore up the body. if you dont wheel your rig that much i could see it being over done but i dont thing his is really a pavement princess

Can't believe I never read this thread. After looking over the 7 pages I have come to one conclusion....

That is the best damn looking 3 I have seen!!! Great work!!

I wanted the sage green 2 so badly but the interior was destroyed on the one I was looking at. That's why I decided on my color, my GTO was the same color and so was our Sky Redline.

I have to agree with Lojac, that is one of the best looking H3 out there. The line-x is extremely good and with how his truck is put together, it fits really well!

We are all entitled to our own opinions. We are all entitled to mod our vehicles as much as we desire or can afford as well.

I love how my H3 has turned out over the years. I have no regrets with the line-x. I like the rough surface much better than traditional paint and clear.

I am not even sure they can color match it

They can do any color you want. You can give them your paint code and they will use that color. I'm skeptical about white though. I feel like you would see a lot of dirt trapped on a rough texture that's white.

I have heard of white being done so I would atleast google white line-x before having it done to see how it worked out.

Just found this.
