Line-x exterior

Figured I'd start a thread on this, I picked it up today after a week at the Line-X shop. I put my bumper back on w/ license plate and the two plastic mirror covers so I could drive home without getting pulled over.

I got started working on reassembly around 7 tonight and it got dark quickly after that. I had an LED lantern that I was using but with all of the bugs being attracted to it, dozens of them were also crashing into my face as I attempted to screw things back together. I decided that I'm going to wake up early and try to get it done tomorrow morning. I have to go to autozone to get some new clips as I broke quite a few during disassembly. Good news is I've found out which clips work from autozone and I'll post a picture of them tomorrow after I get another pack or two.

Z-Mag chrome louver that I bought on ebay

Only issue so far is that it looks like one of the pieces got sprayed in regular linex and not premium. I'll have to call and check

That looks so nice, and I keep saying this but the h3 looks so much better with its fenders off. Someone needs to make some aftermarket fenders

I think it looks good with no fenders. Didn't finish but here's some progress

Got the fog lights back in and the brush guard on too right after I took the picture.

Driver side front fender has to go back on as well as all flares and the roof rack

Can someone with an alpha get a measurement for me how far left and how far up the alpha badge goes on the rear door? Should have done that before I took it off but I definitely didn't

I will try when I get home if no one beats me to it!

I could see how it would look real sharp!

Two problem that would have to be overcome now that I have looked at the pic's above:

1- blending in the the front signal light into the fender so it doesn't stick out too bad... but should be easy enough
2- There would have to some sort of change made to the fueling door and I don't see much of a way to keep the OEM set-up

Uuhhh I sort of like this...however id consider on putting some sort of flexible rubber fenders.thats way they can bend and go bak to their shape if hit against rocks or tress, however I believe here in California the wheel needs to be cover by the fenders and can't not stick out more than 2' or so but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I researches this.

Lol anything would be better than stock. One of the down side to owning a hummer is limited mod options [emoji17]. And everything is so strict in Cali, I don't think there are any laws about wheel being covered here in georgia. If they do the police don't enforce it at all.

Well I like to believe we Hummer owner are only limited as our imagination, balls, and budgets allows us to get...I might work on something for my own custom flares later on...but my first priority is to get my rancho lift an after that, work on some soft shell Military style H1 doors so I reduce an free all that weight from the stock doors and so this way I can run bigger tires, and hopefully this way I can equal or lesser the weight by making this switch...but you are right Cummifornia is a nice state but it's law and rules suck monkey balls.

Apologies for hijacking this thread.

I got charged 2000 after talking with the owner for a while. That's for everything done in line-x xtra/premium with warranty if anything chips or peels.

They said they'd do other little pieces I have that I didn't bring in for free too. I really like this linex shop. I called the closest to where I live in Maryland and was quoted 4000+ for just the green body, and no trim pieces

I forgot how much I despised installing the rock rails with sand and grit in the threads the bolts go in.

2 grand isn't bad at all! Any idea how much weight this added?

Found it. Not sure if it's gospel or not but seems to make sense on the weight.
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/land-rover/938402-line-x-whole-body-paint.html

Makes me want it more now.

Edit: This too...
http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/towing/146669-weight-of-linex/

So to esitmate depending on thickness I am guessing 150 to 250 lbs based on what it looks like you had done?? Not bad. Espcially for an Alpha. A good way to tell would be to "feel" the weight of the fake air cleaner covers after they were done.

Thanks a great deal I was quoted $4,500 a year ago!
