Just finished this up today. Pretty easy project and I think it looks pretty cool.

Supplies:
10x15 pan
Paint
M10-1.5 bolts
Washers/grommets
Silicon
Rear view camera
Wires, tape, solder, crimp connections or whatever you want to use

Used a 1" hole saw to cut the hole for the camera and filed it down to fit perfectly and applied silicon on the back so it would tighten down nice and snug.

Put on a decal I got on eBay for 2.75 shipped, applied a matte clear coat and slapped it all on. This is how it came out. Not perfect but a good alternative at $10 for a lasagna pan.

That looks pretty good I'd have to admit! A pan that is less deep might be a bit less standoutish... But not bad at all for $10

Looks like a military radio pack or communication setup!! I'd be a little worried about the antenna bending the pan, but I like the looks of it vs a 100% flat plate and the rear view camera location and sticker bring it together.

Always have to pray for war, keeps me in business and really pisses off the liberals around here. The pan is pretty heavy duty but I ordered a 3 ft firestik firefly to lighten up the load a bit as far as the antenna. It is still grounded to the chassis via a ground wire running to the body under the rear door sill.

Did you pack some hiking shoes??

^^^

...and I feel compelled to voice my disgust with the 'war' sticker. Too many needless lives lost over the last couple decades while apparently some folks only see dollar signs. Generating some unneeded bad hummer pub with that one. Your right to voice, my right to dislike. Carry on.

It's almost as if the hummer was made to transport troops on mounted patrol in combat.

Your joking right?

Your joking right?

Why would you need to ask if I'd be joking? "Pray for War"?? Are you kidding me? Anyone praying to put young men and women in harms way merely to boost his personal financial gain is disturbing to say the least. That'd be like a doctor driving around with a "Pray for Assault, Rape, and Auto Accidents" sticker on his rig, just hoping for some business. Seriously?

I'm pretty sure everyone in the military joined on their own accord. Am I wrong? I joined to deploy overseas, first as an infantryman and now as a bomb tech. I'm sorry that Is offensive but I volunteered to deploy last week, unfortunately it was cancelled.

I'm afraid I started this thread down a wrong turn by pointing out that sticker... I remember being younger, and full of piss and vinegar, living the infantrymans life and constantly being bombarded by the hoo-rah mentality and thinking those same kind of thoughts. Then you see the pain, death, and misery of war, get out of the military, take years to deprogram yourself, join the rest of society, and look back with a more mature, less brainwashed perspective and wonder what the point of it all was? Whether the cost was worth it? And why on earth anyone would pray for that kind of hell on earth. Were we being patriotic? Protecting the United States from a threat? Helping to save the world? I still don't have an answer, but I know our mission doesn't legitimately fall under any of those three categories and seems like we've lost a lot and spent a lot to gain, in the end, nothing. I'm sure some folks wallets have gotten thicker at our expense and due to the blood of our fallen, but as a whole, our missions have been nothing more than an abuse of our military. The majority of this forum is prior service or active, I don't imagine I'm the only person who feels this way. I'm not dogging you for having the sticker, to each their own. My rig is plastered with decals commemorating a service I am proud of, I personally however am content to turn my back on forced service to further politicians goals. Politicians who cannot even pull their own weight here at home but expect you to put your life on the line for.......?

On a side note, my hybrid decal from a Prius that I got on eBay should be here this week. I'm expecting a drastic improvement to fuel economy.

I'm pretty sure those men and women fight for our freedom and rights, like the 1st amendment, freedom of speech. If you don't like it, don't look at it. This guy is posting his creativeness and self made mod. We aren't on this forum to talk crap.

Cud is to you for doing your 11B duties and lots of respect for you to switch to EOD! I was 12B and did my time as well, and you know what, I did raise my right hand without someone holding a gun to my head.

Be safe and keep making your hummer yours.
