Knight Metal Works is currently designing the KMW UCP Up-Armor System for the H2, and we are proud to announce the first component of the system is now available!

Our first product in this line is a direct replacement for the OEM ladder style UCP under the transmission. The OEM tubular ladder is known for easily bending up and making contact with the exhaust crossover pipe. Also, due to the large openings in the ladder style UCP it is easy to become hung up on boulders when wheeling in the rocks.
KMW’s Transmission Skid provides a smooth surface, enabling the vehicle to slide over obstacles which the OEM ladder would have become hung up on.

DESCRIPTION:

  • CNC cut from 3/16” steel plate
  • Longitudinal reinforcing ribs to increase rigidity
  • CNC cut drainage slots
  • CNC cut air flow slots under exhaust crossover pipe
  • Direct bolt-on installation using OEM mounting holes and hardware – no drilling
  • Black powder coat finish – other colors possible on request

PRICE:

  • $350.00 shipped within the 48 states – outside the 48, contact us for shipping

TO ORDER:

The pictures shown here are of the prototype, and the appearence is somewhat "rougher" than the "production" model will be. The pictures will be replaced when I have made some more.

Top side as mounted on the truck. Front of the truck would be to the left.

Thanks! Yes, I do plan to offer it as a "package". However, I wont be able to give a good idea on a full package price until I have made all the pieces and can figure my costs, and get all the weights and calculate shipping and all. But yes, I figure it can be done as multiple packages, like a Stage 1 kit, Stage 2 kit, etc. depending on how far a person wants to go.

I'm patiently waiting for the rest of the kit - but what I can say is that the transmission skid takes an absolute **** kicking and doesn't even bat an eye.

High, high quality skid and am looking forward to the rest of it being released.

This is still on my board. This summer did not really go as I had planned. I have been dealing with a shoulder/arm issue that has kept me out of the shop, and I have had several unplanned home projects come up this year. However, I just finished the last one of those two days ago, and can now lift heavy things and wield tools again, so look for more on this through the winter.

How far back does it go? Does it cover the tcase. Thinking of going a different direction with my UCP. Love my rubberduck. But it is bent to **** and has almost always rested in the cat pipe. And looking forward to the front section

It goes back to the same cross member as the OEM one. I have plans for one for the t-case that will be much better than the tin OEM one.

I must say those 37's look killer in your sig. I have the same color and with the flares I installed recently the stockers look even worse. I'd love 37's but worried I won't fit in the garage from them being taller. With my roof rack I don't think I'd have the clearance to make it inside.....we'll see!

Just put in a bigger door! When I took the truck in to have them put on, I got scared when they rolled the stock ones over by them. They looked HUGE next to them. Though they should only be 2" taller, there was actually more nearly 4" difference.

Put me down on the board for a full H2 under armour system! I want everything protected underneath! Does it matter that I had a y split catback dual exhaust installed in place of the OEM single pipe exhaust?

Good question. I don't think so, as long as it doesn't hang any lower than the OEM crossover pipe. As long as it is as high as that and stays above the crossmembers I don't think there would be a problem.
