Just going to the Gibson exhaust on mine was noticeable, especially when climbing steep hills in high elevation. Unfortunately, my MPG went down. I attribute it to driving by sound.

I went to auto zone, saw some pipe and a couple decent tips. Saw some that didn't look dumb, think I might do this next week. Get the high temp paint and spray the tip and pipe black. How does that sound? Should cost $25

Back in 2006 when I did that I tried to make the exit point near the same as the OEM. I was thinking they new what they were doing as far as eliminating exhaust gas fumes from entering the vehicle by drafting up from the rear.

Any other option or added tips in my case would not have lasted long.

By the way I don't run those rear mud flaps anymore either!
Here is my White 06 with that mod for those wanting and idea of the sound.
I had to go back three forums to find it.
It has the forum title from way back then but I can't figure out how to download and edit that for now.
The silver H3 has stock exhaust my White H3 has no muff. That part is about 5:30 if you want to hear it working.

It has some awesome scenery I'm not used to being from Arkansas. Great overlooks as you drive right on the edge!
One of my favorite shots of my 06 at the bottom of that hill. You will enjoy the end of the trail and a great spot for lunch.

Okay...I'm slightly...very slightly...interested in this. Does anybody got some video with sound?...maybe rappin the throttle? Maybe some 50mph footage (drone)? I really find it hard to believe the 5-cyl can sound like anything other than a flatulating gerbil but, I'm trying to keep an open mind. You guys seem really sold on this mod? I would love to get rid of that muffler (nice place for my rear winch). I have heard some fantastic sounding Jeep 6-cylinders.

Ill set the go pro up right now and do a quick video of me mashing the throttle with the windows up. And ill do cruising normally.
