Let's say someone decided to release a line of products for the H3. On a level and scale that's never been seen before.

What would you want to see?

Not to rain on the parade, but this topic has been discussed many times over and this horse has been been beaten to death at least 20 times over and everyone who has ever ventured there has realized that the R&D and production costs are a lot more than the market demand. Maybe a better approach would be to ask you what ideas you have come up with that meet the needs of owners of our rigs.

Trust me, you're not raining on my parade! In fact, you're preaching to the choir. R&D takes up more time than anything else... And the whole 13 people who would actually pony up the cash for a product, would hardly begin to cover typical R&D expenses!

However, stick with me on this one. I may have a good opportunity here.

I will support you to the ends of the earth if it means that there will be more after market products for our rigs. Just like I single-handedly financed Ridge Demon's R&D and production costs for his Rock Basher sliders that even his "close friend" Mutaint/Tainter (the softer and cleaner Taint) wasn't willing to do or even ever spend the money to buy his product after it came out, which proved to be the best rock slider ever made for the H3/H3T. There is a reason that I have the first set of after- market H3T sliders Brodie ever made. They rock and kick ass to this day!

Cattle guard sliders would have been a better investment Biggie!

Admire you for bringing it up, like it was said before, beating a dead horse for the 20th time. Although, I'll still hit it. But, R&D costs are way high. Last 3 was made 5 years ago. Most of them never wheeled and 2nd and 3rd owners buying them probably won't be either. The 3's that are wheeled already have someone else's gear on their rig. You will get people jumping up and down here for new stuff, but, small community. And when it comes time to pony up the cash, your list just dwindled. Think it way to late to the punch, by years. But gotta do what you want. Now if you said H2, it would be totally different lol

I think there is likely a bigger market than many think but at best it is a small market.

Agreed. Certainly wouldn't rely on this market to support a business entirely. But, for a fabrication business that's doing very well in other markets, and an engineer that owns a H3, it may be doable.

Wish I knew something about all this. [emoji1]

Would be nice, wouldn't it? LOL

All kidding aside, the guys on here that make products do excellent work, and it's not my intention to step on toes. I've purchased parts from several vendors on here to help support them.

Just noticed that most of the stuff that I want for my H3 doesn't exist. So essentially, I will be doing all of the development of the parts for myself. May as well make a few extras at that point.
Most of what I will be doing are overland style accessories, but I have some pretty cool ideas.

Thank you and I say, go for it. I'm very anxious to see what you come up with, especially the overland accessories.

I have a tube bender that I haven't used yet but let's face it. 4 doors for an h3 weighs a total of 330 lbs. I ditched the doors and it makes a HUGE difference off-road it's just the BCM is in the lower kick panel ready to get hit with water. A sealable half door would be sweet. I'm one of probably a small handful that want them so it's not a good item to sell. If doors weren't 500 bucks a pop on car-part I would take a full door and strip it down to a half door and probably shed atleast half the weight if not more.

Either way, Carry on! I've been happy with the vendors here. Lastly I loved your dodge on 41s over on pirate. If you can come up with that I'm stoked to see what u can do for an h3.

Thanks! Hopefully I won't disappoint.

Regarding the doors, that's probably the way that I would make them (from a factory set of doors) if I were to do that. However, I'm a wimp and am addicted to A/C and my quiet interior. :giggle:
I can see where shedding that much weight would make a nice difference though.

Ok, I'll beat this horse again too. Any tube door would be nice. It can be covered in thin sheetmetal to help keep some dust out and stop things from fallin out from our flat floors. It would be nice to lean our heads out to see tire placement. Cost wise, I think it could be cheaper then moddin a factory door? It might not be sealed. But, if it was that easy. It would have been done already...

Im going to start building mine in acouple of weeks with some 1"x1" square tubing and at 1$ a foot they should be less than 40$ to finish.
