I went into a puddle today, didnt look that deep and got a little stuck. Took about ten minutes to get out. Water started seeping in the door and got about up to the seat. From the angle of the truck the pcm looked completely dry, no water in the airbox or engine and was running fine. I had some error codes popping up while i was waiting to get out almost every error came on. Once i got it out i turned it off, then when i tried to start it up it wouldn't come on. Then i tried again and it came back on and ran normal. But then i drove it around and out of the way and turned it back off to clean out the inside a bit. But then now when i turn it back on it wont start. I get a bunch of random lights flashing, horn was blowing, and i cant get the shifter to shift through the gears the windows and locks dont work either. I have had the theft lock come on but it comes and goes occasionally, also the key wont come out most of the time. The fuel pump works like its supposed to. I blow dried the connectors out on the passenger side under the dash but i am lost on what else to do, any ideas? Getting it towed back to the house tomorrow.

Man that looks deep. Isn't that the second time you've flooded your truck?
yea its the second time i got water inside but first time I've ever had any issues with something, I've been through that puddle a while back with smaller at tires and had no problem, didn't think much of it being that deep. killed the trip today and had to leave it there overnight. i will go get it tomorrow and have it towed back so i can start taking it apart and fix it. i did take all the connectors off and dried them with an air compressor from my friends warn power plant but i didn't see the bcm there and never took it off. i'll work on that tomorrow once i get it back home. was reading some post on here and a couple other places and seems like it has a chance of working again but i did find some bcd's on ebay for decent prices i guess. Anyone know if another bcm from a salvage h3 will be just a plug and play with mine if worse comes to worse?

Not sure if it is plug and play or if a dealer needs to do programming but others should know. Good luck.

But I would also just make sure that it's not something as simple as a dead battery as a dead/weak battery could cause similar symptoms. Less likely given the scenario, but an easier thing to check before you buy a new BCM

Yeah I'm also curious if the BCM needs to be programmed at the dealer as well. If not I'd honestly pay the $150-200.00 (ebay) for a trail spare.

The water doesn't look that deep to me. Look at the simple stuff first. Good luck ,just saw the passenger side pic, you are in the " Taint area".:gaah: I always try to keep the H3 door emblem above water.

...and let everything dry out for 2-3 days and then see if everything works as normal before you spend $$$ on a BCM. Just my 2¢ FWIW.

Will a 2006 bcm work with my 2008 when flashed with my truck? Found one from a wrecked h3. Man once i pulled it off it had ice amd mud on it and i was very p'd off tvwhat a crappy location with no kind of protection.

I agree with Luis, I'd disconnect the battery, get the kick panel off, and let it dry out for a couple of days.
Good luck Chad.

You may also want to inspect your diffs (and possible T-case?) for water intrusion. The breather hoses on the H3 aren't particularly long

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. BCM was fried and somehow from mr driving around with a screwy BCM, the TCM went bad too and wouldn't shift past 2nd gear.

I'm not sure what caused my TCM to break, but on the BCM side, my windshield wipers would go on randomly, headlights wouldn't work without high beam, on star randomly going off, radio wouldn't turn off at all(had to disconnect the battery, then the passlock started preventing me from starting the engine at the most convenient times. I can't remember what else, but the dealer had to replace the computers. I can't remember the cost, might have been around $1000
