Will this fit?

One of my future mods it to get a winch system that keeps the OEM look. That being said, ill either be getting the DOI or predator winch mount.
I do want a more powerful winch in there, along the lines of 12,000lbs. I found this warn winch: VR12000 that looks like it will fit if you remove the soleniod square box looking thing

For those of you who have the DOI or predator winch mounts, will it fit? Thanks

Here is the measurement diagram.

Thanks again.

Seems like by doing a little more research has answered my question. Yes it will fit, I compared the diagrams of this winch to other winches that have been said to fit.

Thanks again.

Look like the DOI mount bolt pattern is 10.0 X 4.5 inch which is the same as the winch, I believe it should work.

Not sure a 12K winch will fit the DOI bumper...very tight under there. 08H3 has one...maybe he can chime-in.

BTW...9.5K seems to be plenty of winch for the H3. If you get into a real jamb you can always use a snatch block to double your pull. Considering the space limitations you have vs. winch capacity, its not such a compromise to go with the smaller one. Its less weight, less money, and fits without mods. I doubt if the larger winch would be worth the extra effort (unless you already had a 12k you plan to use).

Another tip: Use a 50-foot winch line, and a separate extension line. This will keep the layers on your drum to one or two...thus closer to the rated capacity of your winch. Every layer of winch line...de-rates your pulling power, and I've noticed that I do most of my winching in the 20ft. to 40ft. range. So I have the remaining 60ft. of line still on the drum, and I hardly ever use it. It does nothing but de-rate the power, and cost more weight and money...so I'm going to use a shorter line and carry a separate extension line next time. I think this depends on where you wheel but, I rarely need more than 30-feet here in the midwest.

Thanks for all the great info CJ.

The reason i was looking at a more powerful winch than a 9.5 is that i know im going to be doing some expeditions in the future and ill have a lot of weight on board. I just want to make sure that if im in a bind i can get my self out.

I have the M8000 with a synthetic line in my DOI. Its a real tight fit, and you have to clock the end but thats easy on the M series. Make sure the end cap is removable so you can clock it. Im not sure on the VR model.

And if I can make a suggestion, get the wireless remote. First time I needed my winch, it was raining and I used it 5 times in one afternoon. Running the control from the grill to the cab just sucked!!
