What problems do you see with 35" tires?

I will be buying new tires soon and I would like to go up to 35", 315-75-16, from the 33". I would like to know how much rubbing or other issues I should expect. T bars are cranked to 23.5" and I have Ultra Wheels Badlands rims with 4 7/8" backspacing. BFG AT will be tire of choice.
Thanks.

You should be fine I T-Bar'd (not sure of the measurements) but I put KM2's on and no rubbing whatsoever even though the dealer said they would I loved to look an their faces when it fit perfectly! Other issues, MPGs will be reduced due to the larger size but they are really worth it off road.

With the increased back spacing those rims have you can expect more tire rubbing then the guys running stock wheels.

I leveled mine as soon as I got it. I had factory wheels with 285s. Then I put 17" wheels with 4.5" B/S with 35x12.5x17 M/T's on and they never rubbed. Mine is an Alpha, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference on daily driving or turning lock to lock.

Biggest problem?....Gearing.

You can pull your ECM/TCM and send it out to get re-flashed. This will adjust the shift points, correct the speedo, and generally make the bigger tires less of a power sucker. PCM4less (now called something else) did mine...works pretty good but, it can only do so much.

I have the adventure package so I am geared the best I can be from the factory. I am ready to pull the trigger on the ECM mode from PCM of NC. I have talked to them several times, just waiting on instructions to remove it.
Has anyone had transmission issues going to larger tires? I know it puts more of a load on it, my trany guy says the stock cooler is more than enough unless I do hard core crawling.

your geared the same w/ or w/o the adv package in terms of differentials (which is what matter for street) the 4lo is the gearing that helps offroad.

The only problem with putting 35's on is the next day, you'll see someone with 37's....

Have 35" Kumho's on the H3 and debating on either 35's or 37's on the new H3T Alpha.

35's look great, 37's look bad ass (but suck the life force out like an ex wife)

I'm sure 35"s will be about as much as the 3.5 can handle. After the ECM tune, there is not much else to do to get reliable HP from it. Besides, the lower HP will keep me from breaking more stuff, lol.

The only problem i see running 35's is the amount of money left in my bank acct after i go to the gas station and fill up, every week and a half!

I have seen 34's 295/75/16 General Grabber AT2's on an H3 and they looked good. They were on an 06 Base and I didn't hear any complaints about loss of power.
The only downside is there is not a large selection in the 295's.

This is the debate I am having right now too.... Just got my 08 H3 Base and it came with a brand new set of 265s on it. problem is that that are mild ATs more geared to the pavement and I hunt and get in some deep sand and muck sometimes. I was considering a set of 285s that are aggressive but the 315s are tempting me like CRAZY....decisions like this suck!

biggest problem I have right now is trying to justify where the $1200+ is going when it comes out of the bank......

I've been debating on 35s for awhile now. Seems like most complaints about mpg/power loss come from people without a tune.

The only problem I ever had was all the country girls trying to hop in for a ride. The wife wasn't pleased. :)

Some of us without a tune, just accept it and don't complain, because the good outweighs the bad...at least in my opinion.

i was wandering about the 34's, never really hear anybody run them, since its only an inch from 35's would it make much difference on power and gas or not be noticable? i dont have a tune yet either.
