What all came with the Adventure Pkg? Any hidden surprises?

Just as the title asks ...were there any hidden 'Easter Eggs' that came when ya ticked the box for the Adventure pkg besides larger tires, gearing and a rear locker? Especially for years 06-07. Did it also include such things as heavier drivetrain components, larger cooling, etc? I'm sure this has been asked a few times, didn't see specifically when I searched.

Last two or three model years included a front locker

Differential ratio same as a standard H3

Later models included the cast iron front diff on all models

Last two or three years included some additional hardening and beefing up of the manual transmission

Ok, Thanks! That's about what I thought. Cast front diff would be nice.

Is the non-adventure pkg xfer case the *same* unit with taller gearing? Or a more beefed up unit?

I'm not totally sold on the 4:1 ratio for mountain roads and logging trails. But extreme trails it's nice (which I hardly do).

If a guy installs a locker in a non-adventure pkg, do ya need to re-flash the traction control software so it won't interfere?

Correct, and thanks for mentioning this.

The 4:1 is great for extra control - you never know when you might need it even on logging roads. You don't know what you have until you have it, then you don't want to go without it. But I do understand your perspective and it might not be a priority to upgrade vs. other things like a rear locker.

This isn't correct. All 2006 with standard "sparkle silver" wheels had the black stripe, it didn't matter if it was Base, Adventure, or Luxury. Chome wheels had solid chrome centers.
For 2007, the standard sparkle silver wheels came with solid centers (no black bars). Chrome wheels became standard on the Adventure package for 2007 (and I believe 2008 as well but not positive about that as that is the only year I never owned). Seems like a marketing screw-up to me, as I would think the Adventure package guys wouldn't necessarily want chrome, while the mall crawler base or Luxury guys would.

Obviously as you point out, this all is subject to change as it is easy to lose the center caps to a degenerate drug addict or a badly placed tree. It is also easy to paint the bars black on the solid silver caps (and makes for a better look in my opinion).

The chrome wheel pictured is interesting; it doesn't have the "HUMMER" on the cap. I have a 2008 Alpha with the Off-Road Package (ZM6) and the Chrome Wheel package (QB8), and the hubcaps still have the HUMMER logo. In fact, that pic above is the first time I've seen a 16" H3 hubcap without the logo.

I believe that chrome cap is an aftermarket version without the Hummer branding. You'll find those on ebay and cheaper. You'll usually see the genuine Hummer caps are more $.

I've got an 06 with chrome wheels and center cap was all solid/chrome, no black stripe. What's funny is i saw others with the black stripe and liked it but thought it was manually painted by everyone, didnt know they were factory lol. I ended up painting mine with a black stripe .

I don’t think the black striped caps means anything. I remember looking at a row of new H3’s on the lot, and some had them...some didn’t. None where AP models (cause that was what I was looking for). Since then I have seen AP and base models with and without the black stripes. Must have been a trim option or something.

Also, I’m fairly sure that the AP included the tow package, moon roof, and monsoon stereo. Not that any off-roaders would care...but my 08 H3 came with these other items as part of the AP.

My 2010 came with standard wheels and an extra skid plate, but I don’t mean the heavy duty ones. Might have actually been added by the PO. It was not really effective for any except a dirt road...

I didn’t think the sunroof was standard for the AP, but I can’t imagine owning an H3 or almost any car without one.

My first H3 did not have the monsoon and while it’s nice to have, it wasn’t a deal breaker for the second one if it did not have it.

Having had both transfer cases now, I am very happy with the lower ratio and more low speed control of the 4:1. Especially when my kids drive it!!!

Black caps on hubs did not have a thing to do with the Adventure package or a luxury package with the off-road package. Sunroof was optional on all vehicles.

From the Hummer spec ordering book published by GM; prior to model year 2009, I still happen to have...
These are the items listed that make up an adventure package. The adventure package was one of three package available (in normal production they did produce a few unique packages from time-to-time, I have no info on those). The three unique package (which you could also refer to as models) were:
Base
Adventure
Luxury

You could also order a luxury package and include an off-road package that would add the same mechanical items as the adventure package. Needless to say, some times from an adventure would not be included on a luxury with the off-road package such as floor mats, they would remain the luxury floor mats.
