Hi guys, is the 1/8"npt port on the side of the transmission a good choice to place a sender for transmission fluid temp?

Mine shows fluid temp. Yours doesn't? Or do you want to add a separate gauge? See if this helps. Good luck:

Yes for a separate gauge. That link only talks about using that port for trans pressure, but I just want to check if it will give accurate readings for the trans temp as well in that location.

Why don't you get a scan gauge or X gauge that plugs into the OBD port and get trans temp, oil temp, coolant temp, plenty of others?

I already have a mechanical gauge installed, and want to find out if this port will provide a decent temperature reading
