It is now time for me to get a new set of tires but I am up in the air about which ones to get. I don't have an unlimited money source but I also don't have to get the cheapest tire either. I want the fun tire but my head is saying get the sensible one.
Walked out of Red Lobster & saw a trucks tires & said those are the ones! Looked at what they were, Toyo Open Country, saw the price $400/tire & thought this guy is out of his freakin mind! So, moving on.
Here is my criteria:
I LOVE the look of M/T's. (would basically be for looks, which is important too)
Honestly though, this is my daily driver.
So most important is no hydroplaning on wet roads.
Spend more time on road than off.
When I do leave the road it is to the beach or rocks. (opposite types of tires)
It is very important for me to be able to go to the beach. (dilemna for M/Ts)
Would love to go on the dirt trail, scenic route type of off-road a lot but honestly can't seem to find that around here.
Here are some of the choices I narrowed down to based on function, good reviews from Jeep forum & tire site, looks, & price:
General Grabber AT2 (the sensible ones, but still look ok)
Nitto Terra Grappler
Dick Cepek Radial F-C II (good A/T-M/T mix)
Kumho Road Venture MT ( the FUN ones!!!)
I have had no issues with the stock Bridgestone Duelers & would like to just replace those but hubby said they aren't making them anymore. He doesn't care either way. Of course he thinks I should do the sensible ones because of what I use the car for mostly & he says the M/Ts wear quicker & I'm not gonna like having to replace those faster.
Looking for some advice please. And if you know about any of the ones I listed then I would be grateful to know about them either way. I am also not sold on these if there's a better choice. Thanks.
