Here's to another fun photo thread!

This particular thread is dedicated to the funny/ironic/idiotic photos you can find or take with regards to crazy Greenies, leftys, etc. Please rest assured, because I guarantee that this thread is completely fair-trade and self-sustainable; it composts; it's in the 99%; it opposes whaling in the Arctic; it voted for Barack Obama; and, it gets great gas mileage! Please keep it (relatively) appropriate. Have fun!

Allow me to start with a photo I captured at a local restaurant the other day. If this isn't a stereotypical Vermonter...I don't know what is.

I'm offended... I drive a 50 MPG "alternative fuel" vehicle...:emb:

Of course, it spits soot when I drop the throttle & hits 100 on the way up to the tunnel in 5th...

I LOVE blowing by the tards driving Priuses or "smart cars" around here. Gotta love the TDI!

As a buddy of mine said to one of them once... " nice smart car. now go back to the city:giggle:"

Priuses leave denver, they get to about my house & the batteries run out... then it's 50mph max the rest of the way!

Don't be so hard on bad hair guys...it can be quite useful! Wasn't there a girl with dreads who was caught smuggling a kilo of coke in her hair?!

I agree with the ugly prius comments. Southpark did a great episode about them and the even more environmentally damaging smug they put out. Buy a diesel car -- there are so many to choose from nowadays!

I'm very seriously considering getting a Passat TDI as my next daily driver. I went for a test drive the other day and MAN it's got some good torque!

I was being facetious about the choices we have here in the US. But yes, the VW's are really nice -- I was recently looking at the A3 tdi (basically an awd golf?).

I know a lot of people (liberal greenies) who drive them and love them. The same liberal greenies (some prominent members of the Sierra Club) always gave me a smile and thumbs up when they saw my hummer at work and constantly commented on the lack of chrome and obvious use/abuse it gets (well...abuse it used to get -- damn runaway productions!).

I wasn't trying to be a jerk so I hope you didn't take it that way. -I just very much agree with the idea that modern diesel cars really ARE pretty darn environmentally friendly AND they drive really well too.

Take that same stock TDI, and add just a tune by these guys:

http://www.kermatdi.com/servlet/the--dsh--dsh-CHIP-TUNING-and-ECU-UPGRADES-dsh--dsh-/Categories

and it's unreal what a difference it is.

My car went from being an ok commuter, every now & then needing to shift into 4th to hit the tunnel (11,000 feet) at 70, to now being able to hit essentially whatever speed I want (I hit 100 once to see if it would) with a moronic amount of torque when the boost comes in at 1600 rpm) I've done chips on cummins 5.9's & the difference, for $400 or so, was unreal in the TDI in comparison. (btw, mine smokes a tad when I REALLY hammer on it, you don't need it to, my guy just went a tad far & I have yet to bring it back to get it dialed back a touch)

Oh, and driving like a complete azz, about 85mph on I70, I still get 40 mpg, and if we take it easy, it gets 45 or so.

of course not -- never entered my mind. Modern diesels are really good and clean. People here in the US are finally catching on! Just wish we had half the options the rest of the world has as far as diesel cars, suv's and small trucks.

Is that a "Moe's" by any chance? The building / patio looks the same as ours, and I swear, that place is a Prius magnet. I don't get it, but it seems like there are always at least 3-4 Prius there.

That's funny it actually IS Moe's! I guess the Prius-Moe's connection isn't geographically limited. Some college student out there needs to research and write a paper on this. BTW, I like Moe's too, but they're too expensive for me. I usually eat there once a year-- Cinquo de Mayo when anything is only $5.

I love Moe's, but yeah, there are always a minimum of 3 Prii (plural of Prius?) there. Its like $8 for a burrito here, and with all the free salsas and chips...I can make that well worth it with little effort. Dang...I'm getting hungry now!

I want to get one of those stickers that says "My carbon footprint is bigger than yours!". What's funny is, considering the mileage my truck gets, and it's age, it is actually greener than any Prius. After all, I doubt a Prius will last 21+ years and 250,000+ miles and start on it's second life. It will get scrapped out, and the leftist hypocrite who bought it will buy 4-5 more new cars in that same 21 year timeframe.

We also need this to be made into a bumper sticker:
