I didn't even know I had a steering rack problem, but after reading the explanation on the web site of what this is I am considering buying it (because who wants catastrophic failure, headaches, and embarrassment) . Obviously, I have zero knowledge regarding the workings of my 2008 H3 Alpha, and consequently this post.

Is this a real problem that I should fix? and if so does this fix the problem?

This is a known weakness in the H3. There are several aftermarket fixes that are all better than the OEM solution.

Its definitely an issue. I notice an issue and im pretty stock and dont offroad. The steering rack kit will be my next mod just still trying to decide between 3 good companies

I put a reinforcement kit on my H3 and it made a world of difference. Well worth the small price

I upgraded to the Scorpworks steering rack bracket. It eliminates that weak link in the H3 steering rack, and makes a noticeable difference in the handling of the vehicle. He is also a sponsor of this forum, AND he makes a great crossmember bushing replacement.
