Not sure how many levels are needed but how about different cars & trucks-starting at Prius, then some old trucks or hot rods, then moving up to the Base Hummers, then an H2, then and H1, and then the BEST- H3s! :HOLY:YES I DID SAY IT!!

I think whatever M22's post count is should be called "Post Whore Member"

As warmonger correctly pointed out these ranks only encourage post whoring and nobody needs to spend time read garbage (like we don't have anything better to do).

I also find most of the low ranks somewhat demeaning, which is something that I hope we left behind.

Since anybody can look at a users number of posts, the rank is really pretty meaningless.

I suggest that we make zero posts "Lurker" and more than zero "H4O member". This will encourage the lurkers to post and become a contributing member of the forum.

I agree maybe 0-10 lurker or newbie and anything after that H4O member,

I disagree with the whole post whoring thing, and as far as the lower titles being "demeaning", well, I guess I dont get offended as easily as some

So says #3 on the number of posts list. Click the "Community" tab and pull down to member list. Click on the posts column to sort by number of posts and scroll through the list. What are the ranks telling new comers?

Let me try another approach to explain my view.

In the old forum when a person had zero posts we called them "scared" now we call them "Prius Lover?".

After they posted, they graduated to "NADAHO" now we call them "Bald Tire". Then they have "Low Profile" to look forward to. Would you be proud to be called bald tire or low profile? If the answer is no, then it is demeaning! Definition of demean = to lower in dignity, honor, or standing.

These names may not seem demeaning to you now, but try and put yourself in the position of a guest or new member who is trying to decide if this forum is really a place where they want to stay. In my humble opinion we are only a slightly less demeaning forum than the old forum. I think as a community we should strive to take the higher moral road. Why insulting our members before they even join. Lets strive to be better than that from which we came.

Portager, your id is messed up and I'm about to correct it. "Prius Lover?" is only designed for those with zero posts. The names are designed to reward people for more posts but not be demeaning.

EDIT - as a VIP you can set your own. It appears that title got caught. I will put in a temporary one and you can change it to whatever you like
