Hi guys, are there any other obd scan tools besides scangauge and ultragauge which will display transmission temp?

And secondly, regarding apps, is torque pro the best choice?

Thanks

Torque app is real popular. I would think it *should* but I haven't verified as I don't use it. But read THIS, how to do it. Be careful ..old info probably has changed as apps improve. It should say on their website I would think. Hopefully someone who uses it will chime in.

There's OBDLink MX+HERE which I know a lot of guys on other (non H3) forums use. I believe they have a matrix on their website which shows what they allow. If its a readable point by GM they probably do show it, but verify as I don't have that unit. The nice thing is it's bluetooth, super compact and cross-platform ...if that matters to you. A guy can observe readings while working on the engine, for example (no cable).

It's a 'readable' point (by a snap on scanner) anyway.

I use Torque Pro; it does give trans temp. but you have to download the GM PIDs. There are 3 GM Transmission Temp PID's, only 1 works on my Hummer. None of them work on my GM 8.1L V8 in my motorhome. As for the OBD adapter, mine is just a cheap one (about $15) off of eBay, but it did take 2 tries to get one that worked. Helluva lot better than $140!
