hey I need some help. I have the yellow h3 and i want the black grill instead of the chrome one. I only know of like one place that sells them, But I dont want to pay 100 dollars for shipping. Does anyone know where to get one cheaper?? Or would it be easier for me to just bed line it??

Welcome to the forums! WE NEED PHOTOS

If you looking for changes, Crank the torsion bars, getting some extend shackles, and 35 inch tires. Those parts will sure make it look right. That, and Plasti dip fixes the chrome problem.

Hello everyone I'm completely new with all this modding and if y'all saw my pictures my hummer isn't lifted at all and it is stock and I would like to either level or lift it so if anyone has tips or can tell me what y'all did that would be amazing!!

I could also use some tips on some brush guards y'all have gotten or even the upper grill mine is chrome and I don't chrome to much, I'd rather black so if anyone bought one instead of plastidipping it can you tell me what you bought of where you bought it. I would rather not plastidipping the grill cause I was told painting over chrome probably isn't the best idea so if anyone could help.

i used a can of bedliner! It is way tougher than plastidip but it is more permanent. It also leaves a rougher texture and looks more at home on the hummer IMO. I have it on my door handles mirrors and the grille. the handles have been done for over 6 months and still has not rubbed off or chipped. plastidip would not last that long to constant contact. All you have to do is take a high grit sandpaper and scuff up the chrome clean it off with a prep spray or alcohol and then apply 2-3 coats.

I agree with hockey - spray-on bedliner for any areas you are worried about wear. I probably wouldn't bedliner the handles, at least not the bedliner I used, because it's a bit rough to the touch. Perfect for sliders, grill, brushgards, and other areas where you want a tough textured surface.

Okay thank you exactly what I needed so y'all bed lined y'all's and it's not chipping and you can't see the chrome under it correct? And it still looks good after the period of time it has been bedlined? Also have either of you lifted or leveled your h3?

To be clear, I did not bedliner my grill. I have seen pics of others that have, and I was planning on it, but did not get a chance before I sold it. I did bedliner my brush guard and it stood up to abuse great. My H3T was leveled on 35s, smacked some brush, and went through two windshields plus multiple chips - so I know my brush guard took some abuse.

My limited experience with bed liner material is that it seemed to fade pretty quickly. Seems I was always trying bring it back to its original color. I know a grill or guard wouldn't,t be facing the sun. Thoughts?

Hello everyone need some more advice! I was going to start my modding with the h3 by lifting it or leveling it. I did some research about what other h3 owners had done with their h3, I saw a lot of rancho lifts but I also noticed that getting a leveling kit is pretty much a waste of time because you could just crank the torsion bar for free. This seems like the best option, it's free and easy so are there any reprocussions behind this? Has anyone done this?

No negative implications if you don't over do it. Mine are at 23.25" from center of wheel to bottom of wheel well. Slight rubbing at full lock with 35" KM2 tires. Sometimes they settle out a little so check it again after a day or two and then go get an alignment.

Thanks big help!! I have a few questions. How long have you had your torsion bars cranked? Do I need to do anything after cranking the torsion bar besides the alignment? I read something about getting shocks afterwards on other forums but I didn't know if this is necessary, so I'll ask you if it is necessary to get the shocks? :whaa:
