My catalytic converter separated from my exhaust manifold.Think I know why. I raised my body 1 inch with hockey pucks. Realize now thisraises the exhaust manifold but NOT the exhaust tubing. Puts stress on themanifold at the seam of the catalytic converter which is all welded togetherwithin the manifold. (If you use a body lift you need to raise your exhausthangers!!) Thought I was going to get a new manifold immediately but my 10 yearold rode in the hummer and said, “Wow dad, this really sounds good. What didyou do?” I explained and he said I should just leave it this way. Well, knowlong term I can’t do that but thought I would spend more time researching andshare here.
