While removing the stinking carpet i sniped through 4 wires going to a small unit under the drivers seat,,,,,,,i was mindfull of the wire harnesses, just didnt see the little one
I have reconnected the 4 wires sooooooooooo,i now have a ABS,and traction warning light, plus a service message,I had none before i cut through ,,,,Would i be right to hope i can just get the dealer to use his computer to clear them as i had no warnings or lights when i bought it last week
thanks

You could try to disconnect the negative battery cable for a few hours. That should clear the computer.

Oh man, that sort of thing sucks. :( I don't think any of those wires measure resistance along their length to generate a signal or are fiber optic so splicing them back together should fix you up once you get the codes cleared.

codes clear automatically after several (iirc 10) start cycles - presuming the issue isn't still there.

when you remove your seats, avoid (at all possible) turning the ignition on because those codes will appear and need to be cleared by a tech 2 computer ...

From what I remember, the readers auto parts use only read engine codes. No chassis or ABS codes. I could be wrong but that how they are around here. I had to find someone with the fancy snap-on reader that reads everything. I had a similar issue when I drove the truck around without the 4wd buttons plugged in. I would try to disconnect the battery first. Then just wait and see if they clear after you start the truck a bunch of times. Good luck. These things can be a nuisance.

At last my day is getting better

My day is getting better
Thank you gents ,,,I will try and that
I just picked up a completely whole moulded carpet,it needs a good steam clean or shampoo but has no fierce odor,,,the seller said he would help to the cost,,,turns out it was diesel that was spilt,,,a ton of it to
Iam amazed how after detailing the cleaning agents masked the smell for a few days then the diesel fumes hit big time
Thanks again for the help,,,the hummer runs very smooth and the guy seemed a genuine man,

No luck on disconnecting the battery for awhil, pushing the trip odometer cleared the text messages,The new/used moulded carpet shampooed up new looking ,there is a very faint diesel smell but it's fading fast,,,man I was sad after washing shampooing rinsing the old carpet the fumes just got worse,so it's good to get a result and the seller has come back with the cost of the used carpet ,,,,,now to enjoy the Hummer,my son is flying into Detroit from the UK so we can off road ,,,,,first time we have ever sat or driven a Hummer let alone gone off road
thanks again for all the support very reassuring
