I am thinking of leaving Friday afternoon. Maybe staying over in St. George and coming on in Saturday afternoon as normal, maybe 3-4 hours earlier than normal. Who had the H3T from SoCal that posted up about caravanning?

Barbara & I leave Waco Sat and get in Sunday Aft. Can't wait to get there and see everyone. Neo you sure you got everything needed.

seems like we are all good on supplies , one thing i could use is the hardware/mounting stuff that would be needed to put factory rocker protection on. then we could have a wrenching party one afternoon and maybe fit pritchett in if anyone is up for it. it's been hard to find and i know you can't just pick that stuff up at costco

it's no biggy, i'm planning on letting Moab 4x4 Outpost do it this winter along with mounting my front D-rings , i need some brackets fabbed up that tie them to the frame and hopefully then we can run pritchett in April :whaa:

What hardware/mounting stuff do you need? I'm all in for Pritchett... riding shotgun that is! :)

i haven't found pix yet but this is a discription from the hummer knowledge base :

The rocker panels are mounted with three bolts front and back in addition to a number 4 or 6 bolts underneath. There is a strip that mounts underneath that holds the "nuts" that the rocker panel mounting screws screw into. This allows the nuts to slide back and forth along the track to adjust for slightly different mounting positions.
Then there are three bolts that go through the front wall of the truck underneath where your brake and gas pedals are. There are also three more in back that come in a few inches above the floor line behind the rear seats. In both situations, you have to pull up the vinyl flooring that covers these bolts. For you, I suspect, you may need to drill holes as I can't imagine them shipping it from the factory with holes that aren't filled unless there are some "filler bolts" that don't really hook to anything. In either case, it is a pain in the rear to get at but isn't exactly hard either. More a major inconvenience. You have to remove the "outer kick panels" for both sides of the front in order to lift the vinyl matting. On the drivers side, it wraps up and around the gas pedal assembly and is a pain to get out. I simply cut off the flap that does this which made it much easier to reinstall. The outer kick panels are FYI the panels next to your feet that are immediately inside the door.. I.e., if you are sitting there and kick outwards, you will kick 'em.
A floor jack works wonders in getting the rocker panel protection lowered and raised in place with minimal effort. I wouldn't recommend trying it otherwise. I tried to get my wife to lay on her back and hold them in place while I bolted them down but she didn't seem very happy with the idea. :)

The AM General Rocker Panel Guard Kit, part number 5742908, for the 1992/1993 HUMMER came with 19 pages of detailed instructions and illustrations. Do you have this AMG Kit, but are simply missing those 19 pages of Installation Instructions? If yes, maybe you could call AMG and ask them to fax or mail you a copy. Jim

i have the panels that i got from LagunaH1 , then Jeff and i mounted the rock tubes to those. i need the mounting strips (we could probably just use some steel strap and drill where needed) and the bolts, nuts, washers, etc. i need someone that has done it before or has seen what all goes under there. that's why i was thinking af just letting the moab4x4 guys do it , they just did some work for Doug and he found out that they do a lot of stuff on all the Hummer Tour H1's here in town.

we may also need to beat the passenger floor back out , it was sort of smashed when i got the truck but it may mount up fine since the front wheel wells are not damaged where they mount. jimmy (across the street, owns the shop that does chevy and the ford dealers body work) was going to do the floor if needed when things are slow at the bodyshop, he said just before tax time thing slow way down.

i really believe it would be better to wait till April after jeep week. if we ran it now we may need to stack a thousand rocks or more, if we ran it right after jeep week we would have the advantage of all the rocks that the jeeps had to stack ... and Matt would be piissed if we ran it without him

I would get over it but it would suck. It is not hard to put the rocker protection on but it does take the rails to do it right. Neo you are right the rails can be fabbed up if you get the measurements off of the rocker panels center to center on the bolt holes. There are 3 strips for each side and 3 studs mounted to each. If I was home I would snap some pictures but I am still stuck on the other side of the world.

i think someone asked a few pages back for the April dates. Easter Jeep Safari 2013 ends on march 31st so lets do ours the first week of April, the 1st thru the 5th. we can talk about it more when everyone is here. Mid march can still be really cold so we should run after EJS . we'll get a thread started after we finish the Oct. run .

I left some of those decals with Neo and have some in the 92. Mike S. says he thinks he has the tapered bolts and J hooks but not the bolt plates. I ask him to see how quickly he could get a set shipped.

Well if this trip didn't sneak right up on me. I just knew it was October and I was checking in to find it's this weekend! My parents scheduled a family event in Ruidoso this weekend and I didn't realize the overlap, but I'll head up Monday morning from there. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Also, deals on the Predator bg and Thor Parts bumper have not materialized for one reason or another. I thought they were sold...if any one is interested, I can bring them to Moab.
