Hey guys I have a 2005 H2 yellow hummer.
So far I have installed a Flow Master American Thunder kit
Next my plan is to do the following in this order
1. Air intake (dont know which one is a good choice)

2. Brush guard (found some on Craigslist for $300) local to me. I called and asked if they are GM ones. He told me they are OEM specification / fitment. So wondering about that if it's ok.

3. Some 20' rock stars. For looks. OT wheeling. (will keep stocks for trashing

4. Roof rack

For now need advise on cold air intake and brush guard.
Thanks in advance.

Id say no on the cold air intake, especially when wheeling, youll just end up getting too much crap in there.

A chip tune will do more for the money compared to a CAI.

I have a Air Doc on my H3.. I noticed a slight increase in acceleration between 25-45... A bit more pep.. Is a little bit louder with it, some even say they get a slight increase in gas mileage.. I did not get any but that could be due to something else... I dont know brands for the H2 on the brushguards.. But if you are doing any wheeling, you need some good UCP to protect the belly of the beast... Also, if it was me I would go with a smaller wheel size than 20 and put some meats on it.. Nothing worse looking than a Hummer with big 20 inch rims with rubber band tires on them...:gaah:

Well I use to have a integra with a CIA before and they do make a difference. I guess for this one I will go with the AirDoc I'll put my order next week. As for the rims I know you guys look down on big rims hehe. But trust me I only plan to leave them for city driving. For wheeling I will put back my BF's stock size. I got my stock size rims and tires from American tire co so they rotate my tires free of charge. So the rockstars I get will also be from them. The guy told me they will swap out my rims and tires free of charge when ever I want to change shoes :D

I googled the front brush guard and looks like the 2007 and 2005 are not compatible :( but I'll do more research on that tonight. I'll take some pictures of my ride later.

Thx

Lol no rubber bands for me ;) my wife's armada sits on 24's with low profiles. Looks nice how they fill in the wheel well. But not for my h2. I saw an h2 with 26' rims and tires looked like a pot hole would crack the rim.

The brushguards are the same for all the years. Are you looking for the single or double tube? I have both

Just avoid an open air box on the trail, and, in my opinion, using an oiled filter on the trail and you'll be fine with the CAI.

I went with the airdoc and got an airaid filter. Kept the closed box system. But after a run with dust make sure you clean the filter

The following is my opinion only, and is not meant in any way to downplay anyone elses mods or opinions.

I have run CAI and K&N filters in several vehicles in the past. After doing a lot of reading about filters, and seeing some comparison testing, I wont use a K&N again. I don't really see the point in putting a CAI on an H2. The stock one already is as CAI as it gets. Air is pulled through the fender from outside. I also think the stock filter is a pretty darn good design. As far as air flow, I think the only place one would benefit from more air flow is at WOT, but how much time do we spend at WOT?

Here is an actual test that was done independently by real people, not by any filter companies. It was done with multiple brands for the Duramax. The Duramax uses the same filter design as our trucks, it is just round instead of oval, and I think a little larger. But same design.

Take a look at the test. It is a pretty good read. All the filters were donated by Duramax owners.

Basically, the only area the AC Delco filter was outperformed was in the max airflow test. It had the highest efficiency, caught more dirt, could hold more dirt before reaching max restriction, filtered longer and let less dirt through. Pretty impressive, I think.

I'll keep my AC Delco in my truck.

Scarsman thanks I'll keep the original box in there. But I'll just replace the pipe with the AirDoc that way I can still use the same filter and stock air box.

I'd like to thank zach I picked up a nice brush guard fm him and tail light guard. Next to buy is my ranger Gobi and rock stars wheels. Followed by that some roof lights and rear roof lights.

You forgot to mention the H4O stickers too. That is a great mod in itself lol
