Well, bought it today.

2008 JKU, ARB F&R bumpers, new 33's that will come off tomorrow & be replaced with 35's, warn 9000 with synthetic line, old man emu 2" lift.

Got clobbered on my trade, but got a pretty good price on this... so it all washes out.

Yep... there was a reason for urgency!
I'll be there, but probably a little early for most folks. Doing sat, sun, mon I think.

It's a rubi... ONLY reason to justify buying one imo. F&R lockers, D44's, 4:1, auto swaybar disco ready to break... it'll be fun.

Nice looking Rubi. Just don't put a Hummer Recovery Vehicle sticker on it, otherwise the tug-o-war is on!

Hope you stay around H4O!

Just had a buddy telling me about how I shouldn't take it on harder trails, since it's expensive, because I might hurt it.

I thought he knew me???? What a stupid statement!!!:giggle: It's gonna get beat like a redheaded stepchild... :horns:

I'm glad I started with the 3 though, as it taught me NOT to slam my way up things. It showed me it's limits & made me learn to be patient, and made me wheel with more caution & technique than most others I go with, which should make me a better driver long term. I think driving with the caution I use with the 3 should make the Rubi last a long time.

Got the 35's on tonight, need to trim the stock rock rails, and I'm good to go!

Oddly enough, it feels much better with 35's on than it did with 33's...

Congrats on the new rig. Hopefully this one will hold up a bit better for you.

Don't have too much fun with the unlimited number of aftermarket parts!! We'll all get jealous!

HA! That's my biggest fear with the Jeep... the fact that I can buy so much different junk for it!!!

I will say I'm amazed at how cheap some stuff is though! It costs so little to get basic stuff for them.

Salesman called me today though...

And said that the previous owner just found the soft top, and dropped it off for me!

Always nice to get a $1500 gift!!!! Very cool. Gonna slap it on tomorrow & see how loud it would be for the drive out there.

Swung down to High country 4x4 today to go harass TimG... what a jerk:giggle:. That guy is MAKING me drive to the city again tonight so he can give me some spacers... VERY COOL!

Helped me out with some basic info, some do's & don'ts with the Rubi... Very helpful. Some of it I didn't want to hear, but it's always good to hear reality from experience instead of bowing sunshine up my butt!!!

Very glad I made the trip, he's getting into sledding this year, so pretty sure I can repay the favor!! :D

Well, after a few trips & some annnying rubbing (actually reconnected the swaybar when I was wheeling hells with Alrock

I got the razor knife out & cut the fenders.

No more rubbing!!!

about 3/4" from full stuff (could only get it there in the driveway by bouncing on it)

Got some work to do to get more flex though...

Need new shocks and new brakes lines to get more (could bracket the lines... but I'm going to end up going further odds are)

I've taken it up a few smaller hard features here so far, but this sat will be the real test, I'm going to go up my main local trail & see how it does! The top of this trail has cost me some serious money this year, hoping that this thing does well!

So... since this I've put 5100's on it, longer sway bar links, and putting longer brake lines on this week.

Also added 2" spacers to level the front end, regeared to 5.13, and put riddler diff covers f&r.

Got to be honest... some of my local stuff used to scare me, now it's barely interesting... this thing is stupid.
