Recently I noticed this, it goes down to the 20 mark and slowly comes back up, very slowly I might add

ou might have a busted oil sending unit, same thing happened to me a while back. the gauge would move drastically down and back to normal, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless youre getting alerts from the "screen" that says the oil pressure is too low, that's when Id get it replaced

It's definitely not the oil pressure switch. And nothing on the screen. Although, I did hear this

Hmmmm, have you ever replaced any of the belts in there? When the alternator went out in the deuce I found out that Gator belts had been put in and they were SH*T. Replaced both the alternator and a/c ones with OEM and now it's quiet. That probably isn't linked to what's goin on with the oil pressure Guage though.

I would say it's lifter noise from lack of oil, doesn't sound like rod knock. The top end of the motor is the last to get oil. The oil pressure sending unit is reading oil pressure at the end of the line. Could be a blockage at the pump pickup or the pump itself going bad

Belts are fine and plenty of oil. Problem started two weeks ago, it's burning coolant. No visible leak and it's not in the oil or trans. Probably burning it in the cylinder. It has gotten dramatically worse the past few days. The pig is wounded badly

That's more than lifter noise, more like rod knock. Odd it would quiet down, but still not good by any means. You've got a bearing going out somewhere--cut the oil filter open, check for chunks of bearing material, then have an oil analysis done. Just broke the same news to a buddy in Phoenix who already cut his filter open from a fresh rebuild. The metal chunks in there were a main bearing, time for a third rebuild on a fresh motor--something wasn't being done right.

I've got a line on a complete Cummins 4WD setup, the entire drive train. Either you buy it and let me know what a pain in the ass the swap is or I pull all my junk out, sell it to you and tell you what a PITA the Cummins swap is. Either way everybody is happy.

78K '07 and pulls like a freight train. Plus, pulling the motor gives me a chance to install one of those Rock Auto manifold repair brackets to get the exhaust leak fixed.

Traded it for a loaner until it's fixed.
Let me know what fixes it-----
You guys are WAAAYYYYYY to easy to roll over on Zach.

Pretty nice loaner though. Really like the new Silverado though. Engine got dropped off late yesterday at work. Tech was going to try and pull the wounded engine today

I loved my dealer in Salt Lake who'd always put us in some kind of new Caddilac loaner until the HUMMER was fixed. Sometimes I'd make up excuses for service just to have a Caddy for a day, but always great to be back in the HUMMER.
