They told me to wait for news mid week after the Holiday shut down, so I will run by tomorrow afternoon and report back. I have found chewing the fat in person gets any of these places attention more than just another phone call.
I apologize again for this long delay. I would have never figured on this happening.
I'm paying the difference in cost to go to this bigger place but feel they will deliver.
I will post what they tell me tomorrow.

Well I was reluctant to jinx things but last week they were cutting the fronts. Claimed to try to have the rears cut and might get them welded this week!
Remains to be seen, but I'm staying in town, just in case.
I will be relieved when these are finally done.
I can tell the troops are getting restless, you all have been very patient.

Just sayin,

Final tweak today and they started cutting the rears. Not sure if they will have them all welded by end of day Friday.

FINALLY!!!!
Ok, I would have never thought starting over with a new place, (several) would take this long.
Thank you for being so patient.
I got these and it was explained to me that since they buy steel in such large quantities that they get it from a supplier that sells it coated with some anti-rust so when it sits in the yard it does not deteriorate.
I tried media blasting and it would shine up but is really slow. They were attentive to detail and weld like boiler makers. In fact they are building a 60 foot one. They ground down the bottom welds to make them flush and even hit most splatters.
I feel like it is best to leave what is stuck on so well on there. I will hit them overall with the media and smooth out some of the grinding.
After all we are going to go out and slide them over rocks!!
If I just hit the surface overall it will clean them up and add some "tooth" for paint to stick.
I got boxes ready but will have to go get a $40 roll of heavy shipping paper to keep them from tearing up the boxes. It will take me couple of days to get them out in the order I received payment.
Thanks again and I hope these serve you well.

Here is one I "swept" with the media and a shot of their welds.

ps: After they finished these the next thing they bent, the 220 ton press hammer shattered! Whew!

Three more of the pre-paid sets to media blast, boxes are assembled, labels are printed. Hopefully I can finish up and make the mail which does not go out at the PO until late afternoon. I will ask if the Flat Rate Priority boxes move on Saturday.
I might not be able to stand up in the morning!
I had the holes for the u-bolts made so they would fit 9/16 u-bolts which are bigger than OEM which are metric. So that gives some wiggle room and if you want to get new u-bolts they will probably be SAE at a local spring company. It was just a thought. The holes next to the front brackets are close if you use the OEM nuts with washers made on them. That was in an attempt to adjust the bracket to fit into the shock plate where they are curved so the skid should almost be flush.
If anybody has a problem some slight grinding may be needed. I don't think that will be needed if they are consistant. They used an extra set of plates to use as a template and the holes are bigger than OEM bolts. Just run them up with a ratchet first and check the alignment and then if you have an impact crank them down.
Mine fit good. Pictures tomorrow, I'm whupped.

I again worked on the fitment of a new skid just now. It works to use thread locker, start all the nuts, leaving the back ones short of the skid, tighten the front ones up hard. Then run up the rears, making sure you have some thread showing. If you get it just right the skid will clear the bottom and back of a Bilstein or other large shock eye. That was what I was working so hard on with this last fabricator and it took three tries to get that right and make the front bracket less wide to clear the curve in the OEM plate and allow the skid to go up closer than before.
It was tough to get both angles right to see the clearance. My "Red" Purple Cranium diff cover was in the way of the camera.
(By the way, for the photo guys, this was shot using my D600 Full Frame digital, 50mm prime lens, and on board flash.) I like it!
I wanted to show how in this case the shock does not touch. Hopefully they are all consistent. I used a heavy wall extended socket and had no problems getting it on the nut. I also had the holes made a bit bigger in the bottom so there was wiggle room for the socket and easier to flush out mud and pea gravel.

Got my skids today! Thanks for all of your hard work on this.

One quick question, though....is there a 'right' and a 'left'? In some pictures it seems that the inside of each should be flat and the outside angled, but in the more recent pictures they all look to have the right side (large side down, bottom facing you) angled.

In that picture of all the pairs your just seeing the half that shows which is just random of how I picked them up.
At least I hope they are all matched sets of left and right, I wonder about me sometimes.
The straight edge goes towards the wheel.

I am going over the list now but need to confirm that you guys may have two rights by mistake.

There are probably 3 sets like that, damn!!

I am having trouble here I can't explain for sure.
When I was trying to get these ready I unloaded them and they were locked together I assumed, stacked in pairs I assumed were one of each. (we know what assume can mean)
When I media blasted them I kept them together without checking them and got six of all the same side in a pile some how.
I just separated what I have left into proper pairs and have here 6 left side which is the drivers side. Straight edge goes toward the wheel when looking at it from the back and the back is the tallest bend.
I have six orphaned lefts so I think that explains it.
DAH_1379.jpg

As soon as I hear from others I will immediately send a left even before receiving the other back. It would be good if you could send a picture of the side by side from the rear or tallest bend to double confirm this or just read my explanation.
Please return "one" when we determine you have two rights, in a medium flat rate box to cut my loses.
I will refund the shipping to you thru paypal.
So sorry too many things going on at once.

You may be one of the lucky ones that got two rights, OOOPPs:emb:
read the explanation below.
I need to know which two you have and I can get one at that day, tomorrow if you are a hoot owl like me.

The flat rate box for one is a 0-FRB2 which is a flat flat rate box.
The box is free and it costs $12.35 to ship which I will gladly refund.
Use my return address on the box you received when you can.
Thanks
Dumb Dave

Uhh I'm not sure that angle on the one in the picture on the right is hard to tell if the angle is on the right. If it is just swap sides with them and shoot a picture straight down on them just to make sure. I think I have already figured out who got them and have matched up what I have left.
But at this point let's double check.
