I really like that drawer!

At first I didn't because the drawers were so small but I think it would work great for my recovery gear. Maybe just make it a tick taller and make the compartment that was designed for a compressor a little bigger to store spare halfshafts. I also like the relocated factory cargo tie down hooks. Then I could throw my tools on top and strap them down. I didn't like the diamond plate look at first because it seemed a bit shiny but it has grown on me.

It would be nice if someone could come up with a bolt together framework
that could be flat-pack shipped, then assembled and skinned with what ever
material the buyer chooses.

That is a sweet setup, you're the boss! Could you offer some guidance on what you used, where you got it and how you put this together?

Thank you Paladine, Hummer Invest. its made from 3/4 plywood and the edging was precoated 3/4" shelf mounting track you find at the hardware stores. I used piano hinge for the fold out bed pieces also obtain at hardware store when folded has attachible side wings which are attached to the main plateform with 1" bookshelf mounting track that slides over the 3/4 track edging. with acouple of front legs for support. the side wings i used some black turn knob bolts to keep the sidewings from working loss from the main plateform. the drawers are about 7 1/2" deep. I wanted more headroom when using the plateform and this is why i made it lower profile Another 3/4" and i could get my half shafts in there but we learn! The face is some blingy alum diamond plate and the the drawerslides are 100lb rated.I had alot of the materials like plywood so i spent maybe $50 to $60 to build it. It works really good to pack things away and keep some order back there and Ive used the plateform half dozen times and has work out great!

And I used some shelving track and detachable 250lb shelf mounts on the main box to support the hinge between the plateform and main box. It is over kill and dont always use them. The sidewings are attached with the 1" pre coated track back to back to form an ibeam, one side hard mounted the the wing that sliddes onto the main platfrom . it is about 1/8" track and is a very strong joint. The wings and front support legs are stored behind the back seat and main box.I used a couple of old black lawn chair carrying bags for a storage bag and It all stays in the truck. Had many possitive responses from people that have seen it.

Im bumping this...Its more on the long list of things to do as I need to finish my cooling issue/solutions first but how much do these cargo storage things weigh? I want to keep my weight down to a minimum but I have so much lost space its ridiculous. My buddy in a TJ has about the same amount of stuff I have minus the tie rods and halfshafts but can fit all of it due to his organization and a TJ can fit inside an H3! I have extra clothes, non perishable food, water, tool box, halfshafts, tie rods, u joints, ball joints, tow straps, shackles, winch remote, fluids (coolant, brake, power steering, trans) tie downs, zip ties, tire repair kit, battery box to jump a dead battery without relying on another car, boots, gloves, misc. stuff like wd40 and electrical tape, and the list goes on. Sometimes I think I am OCD but other times I think I am just prepared...So with all that said I have about 120 lbs iirc in the trunk. I dont want to add another 50% of the 120lbs just in organizational boxes. So post up what you guys do to keep organized and post up how much the cargo storage weighs.

Its interesting seeing these things in Australia. They really have some cool stuff over there. This is something I would like to add in mine. Guess I could start buying some aluminum.
