The Hummer Club will be running it's semi-annual spring Black Mountain event in Harlen Kentucky the first weekend in May. There will also be a fall event there this year. There are six or seven other events on the club's calendar or in planning: Silverlake Sand Dunes (WI), Borrego Springs (CA), Rausch Creek (PA), Durango (CO), Rockies (CO), Moab (UT) - 20th club event!, Windrock - and more in the planning.

Black Mountain Off Road Adventure Area is in the heart of Coal Country. To get there, you may pass through towns with names like Big Stone Gap, Pennington Gap or Cumberland Gap. It is just a few miles west of Virginia and north of Tennessee, in the southeast part of KY, just outside of Harlan. With over 8,000 acres of mountainous terrain, elevations up to 3,300 feet and 150 miles of trails.
The Hummer Club is returning to Harlan Kentucky Spring of 2015. Come Join fellow club members May 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and May 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] at the Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area.

The event will have 2 full days on the trails and an opportunity to try the zip line tour (Optional) on Saturday afternoon. The Zip Line must be coordinated direct with the park and must be paid for separately.

Event Description here.

I'd also point out that this is sale month - $40/year for membership. The club has been working hard to lower event costs, reduce overhead and putting on new events. If you haven't checked out the Club recently, you can see my post in Announcements or just go visit the website: www.thehummerclubinc.com.

Oh my god, I remember the thread on the last one...and the price too! I wonder where this thread will go.

Good luck on your event, I'm too far away to want to consider it.

Membership is $40/year right now (on sale this month), includes all back issues of Azimuth magazine and 3 new issues/year.

The Black Mountain Event ($145 for the truck/driver) includes 2 catered BBQ meals, registration-night pizza and drinks, event hat, and two days of Black Mountain park fees. I'm thinking that's not bad! As a club, we have worked hard to get our costs down. We don't "make money" from events - they cover the event costs and the event registration fees for the organizer who is a volunteer (not his hotel and fuel).

Would love to address any concerns people ahve over the club - PM me or put it here. This isn't the club it was just a couple years ago.
