Pretty sure it's inside the transmission, (input speed sensor) may need to take it to a transmission shop. I think the trans need to be torn down to get to the sensor, so you may as well R&R the trans, with means $$$.

Sorry :(

Bebe is right, that particular speed sensor can't be replaced until you open up the whole case & the sensor is located behind the flywheel according to the factory service manual.

I just had the same with my 2007 last month, $1400.00 split 50% with the dealer.

The part itself is only about $50.00, but it seems the transmission has to come out to get to it, while inside they also changed my transmission filter, I was happy about that.

Now my 07 drives like new, I saw a noticeable change in smoothness and shift points. While the sensor is out may may also notice when stopped an accessional jerk like a misfire, but I think that was the tranny trying to engage periodically, any way that went away too.

Here is some info on the ISS from AlldataDiy

Circuit Description

The automatic transmission input shaft speed (AT ISS) sensor assembly is a three-wire hall-effect sensor that is mounted internally to the transmission on the oil pump assembly. The AT ISS utilizes the gear teeth, located on the turbine shaft, to generate a voltage signal of varying frequency that corresponds to the rotational speed of the turbine shaft. The AT ISS signal is an input to the powertrain control module (PCM) and is used to determine line pressure, transmission shift patterns, torque converter clutch (TCC) slip speed and gear ratio.

Where are you located? I have a really good friend in Pakistan :) otherwise, take it to a local shop and ditch the stealership. If there are other American trucks there the 4L60E transmission is very common.
