Looks like a great product!! I would get it now if we could get an Idler/Pitman arm combo. I just picked up, and was just about to install the Moog Idler/Pitman arms. I'm gonna wait a while now. I hope they come sooner than later :corn:

below is directly from the thread

Pitman arm is being worked on, but honestly, I'm in an uncomfortable level of debt right now on this project. Until at least a couple hundred idlers are sold, the Ultimate Pitman Arm won't be coming off the drawing board.

Edit to add: After the pitman, will be a centerlink. Any of the three parts will be compatible with stock components. I'm not going to make people invest in all three pieces if they don't feel they need it. To me, that's a detractor in some of the competition's solutions.

Gents, you probably are wondering why Bill created only the Idler arm as the first priority. I wanted you to know the reason and once you know, you will understand why a matching pitman arm is not really needed to benefit from the overall strength gains. The Pitman arm arm is designed by both GM and aftermarket suppliers to have lateral play in it to allow for movement or flex in the steering assembly. I know it's hard to see it with a new pitman arm but trust me, it is there. You can go back and review the threads over there to gather more info. Basically what this means is that all of the strength and tightness exists in the Idler arm assembly. If the pitman arm didn't allow for flex, the arm would be more vulnerable to breakage and risk while driving. There have been many reports of pitman arms breaking with the Cognito PISK on pitman arms. However, the PISK is very flexible and poorly designed IMHO. The moral of the story is that it's not that important to wait for him to produce a Pitman. However, when he does it will be a huge improvement over OEM or Moog. That doesn't mean you won't gain lots of strength from this new idler. I hope this sheds some light on why only the idler is the primary focus.

So how does this idler affect the cognito support kit? Is the kit not needed anymore? I don't have it yet, but I'm wondering if I went with this idler if I would still need the support kit.

This new Idler will be much more stout than either stock or Moog with Cognito PISK. You can still run the PISK on the Pitman if you want, but I would run it without PISK all together. if you've ever seen a stress test on the arms with Cognito PISK, you would see that they flex like hot butter and barely offer any improvement except in the "feel" at the steering wheel. I've witness this flex with the PISK first hand. One trip to Moab with PISK and both new arms were gone.

Perfect! That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks!

I'm thinking about it but was hoping to do it all at once instead of putting in Moog Pitman then replacing with HD Pitman. Any idea how many orders they have so far? Just trying to gauge a timeline till Pitman creation :corn:

I can attest to the strength and design integrity of this part and it far exceeds anything else available. I was part of the test fitment group during prototype development. I've held it in my hands folks, its brute strength for your steering! If you own an H2, you owe it to yourself and your H2 to get one of these:thumbs:

So Tom, considering you went to the trouble of installing & testing this, does this mean you've changed your mind regarding the Sale of your SUT? (I sure hope so!)

I have the Cognito PISK in combination with the Cognito Idler Arm Pivot Steering Assembly with welded in bracket installed on my truck. It held up to several Moab trips. Although steering has always been an issue with the 2, especially when the front is locked on the rocks.

I have begun to develop play in the steering recently. I'm intrigued by this product. It is actually less expensive than the Cognito parts together.

What's the difference between his and the kryptonite idler arm? They look identical

I emailed the Dmax store and asked it was the same one and their entire reply was, "They are similar design." That's a direct quote. No "hi," "thank you," not another word. Kind of odd.

Yeah, I wondered about that part too! I'm going to order mine from High Roller since he was the first one to put the effort into fixing this problem.

Might be able to get a deal on a group buy from dmaxstore. I bought several tie rod kits from them and they hooked me up at a discount

Dmaxstore and High Roller are selling the same part. Bill is using DMAX as the store to help him sell them. Bill makes more money if you buy direct from him on high roller web site. However, it makes more sense to buy from dmaxstore if you have or will have any of their other kryptonite products so your warranty is all at one place.

So they prob just copied the idea like they did with the frame side idler arm piece from supersteer
Their Kryptonite Idler Pivot Kit is provided to them from Supersteer. Kryptonite (DMAXstore) then adds their bracket to the supersteer pivot and sells them as a kit.
