4WP mounted my Kevlar MTrs on my Hutchinson wheels for the H3. Todd at the Temecula store took care of it. I also had one replaced under warranty at their Dallas store and they mounted it with no issues. It seems to depend on the store. hard to believe that a 4 wheel parts and tire store wouldn't mount tires on wheels with beadlocks.

I called the 4WP in Santa Ana, the closest one to me, and they said no, we won't touch beadlocks for liability reasons. I told them that you had them done so they put me on hold. Then they said they still wouldn't do them. I asked if they were aware that Hutchinson's were DOT approved and street legal and they said Ooh, so they put me on hold again and them said they would call be back.

Insert long pause with Jeopardy music in the background.

Well if they ever call me back I post their final answer. I’d rather use City Wide Auto because they have always done a good job and they are close, but if I could get a price quote from somewhere else. I could get City Wide to match it, otherwise they will just bill an hourly rate which is open ended.

I don't think we have anyone here that has ever mounted beadlocks before. Wouldn't want to take the chance of destroying something

I understand that. I wouldn't want to get into a finger pointing situation. I'm actually amazed that City Wide can and will do all the things I ask them to do.

November 25th - Cleghorn/2N17X - Many of us have black Friday off so Zach and I thought it would be a great escape to get away from all the mad shoppers. We are flexible on the date and invite input from the members.
I know I've read details on these before, but what are the trail difficulties and/or rig requirements?

Cleghorn is all a typical fire trail with "alternative routes" so basically anyone can do it. I did 2N17X with 33" ATs and no locker. The difficult parts have optional bypasses.

Both are pretty much just dirt so rock rails are not needed.

I finally got a call back from 4WP Santa Ana and they said they wouldn't do the Hutchinson's. They did say they called the manager of the Temecula store and they would do them. I might call Temecula and see if I can get a quote. I'm also going to take the directions and a wheel into City Wide and make sure they know what they are getting into.

Tustin Hummer would do them also. Most of the H1s have beadlocks and two piece Hutchinson wheels. Ask for Todd at the Temecula store. He is a good guy and will get it taken care of for you if you go that route.

Cleghorn is fun but not overly difficult. 2n17X is pretty difficult if you do all the obstacles. They did close off part of the trail that was a lot of fun and had some of the more difficult areas in it. The loop is closed as is Suicide Hill.

If Bigunit and Colito want to join us, Colleen and I’ll sweeten the pot with 2 or 3 nights in our guestroom and a day of rock hunting, wheeling or shopping in Quartzsite.

How about holding the meeting and greet at the Dave and Busters at the Irvine Spctrum in Irvine CA?

They have lots of room for large groups and lots of things to entertain anyone thit might get bored.

I think we need to avoid place like Dave & Busters. I want to encourage club members to converse with each other and not be distracted by other things like games.

Personally, I like the idea of Lucille's in Lake Forest. It has become a tradition in SoCal for us to gather for good Southern cuisine (at least in California). This also looks like an easy place to find.

It also sounds like people are pretty good with the dates we suggested and the trails so I am going to start some official threads for each event and get then entered into the calendar. I am still looking for a volunteer for leading in Anza Borrego. Otherwise we will be spending the day in the same places, blow sand and 4x4 practice section. I will not have time for a prerun.

Lucille's has really good food and has always been good about accomodating groups. One thing about the Spectrum is that the parking lot fills up on weekends and the closer you get to the holidays the worse it gets. Dave & Busters is ok with me, I don't do the games anyway but Lucille's has far better food.
