On my way to work tonight, an older gentleman lost consciousness while on the driver sit. We are all stopped on a red light when it happened. The older guy probably passed out doing 40-50mph. Slammed straigt to a nissan pick up truck next to me. His car went up a little on impact, then hit my H2. Pick up truck is totalled. It also hit the car in front of him.

the H2, sadly bent the rear axle. I had it towed to my place. I can hear the rear right wheel clicking when iw as backing it up. Rear body pannel also got slightly damaged. Right rear shock bent. I hope no frame damage. Will post pictures later.

Any repair shop you can recommed in Las Vegas, NLV area? Since I will be replacijng the rear axle assembly, go with a surplus part? Cbn i still buy new from GM? i still need to have it r geared to 4.88

The axles in the H2 are nothing special - a semi-float 14 bolt which is used in any of the 2500HD's - should be able to get one new from GM. 9.5" 14 bolt, 33 spline, semi-float.

You will want to pull the eLocker out of your axle and the gearing which you changed assuming it isn't damaged. Not sure you could spec those items from the General.

Sorry to hear that Orlando.

New diff from GM is not available. Just the housing alone is $3k plus and it is the bare housing. Best bet is having a gear shop build one. When I twisted mine I went that route. I know two good ones that have done work for me before. Can give you their info if you want

I just went out to take a closer look. I think the rear frame was damaged. ****! There
was a horizontal attached
to the rear wheel then to the subframe that was bent. Rear right tire rubbed to the frame when i backed it up. Then there was the
rear bar of the frame that goes left to right, near the gas tank that looped or also bent. ****!
I will take pictures.

You have upper and lower control arms that bend. It will cause the diff to be out of place. Plus the rear track bar will throw it off if bent. Had that happen when my 2 got hit parked. Takes a lot to **** up the diff.

Zach, was it pain in the a** to find replacement parts? Lot of work involved? This really sucks. I was trying to keep the H2 in great condition as I am saving it for my son.
