SierraH3 aren’t you still running on 33" wheels with A/T tread? I have some slightly set of BFG 305/70R16 KM2 I'll make you a good deal on. 35"s and a more aggressive tread would help and maybe a front locker so you can creep more. The biggest thing is you want to avoid spinning your wheels. The static coefficient of friction is always higher than the kinetic coefficient of friction and the kinetic coefficient is independent of speed. So you get the most traction before your wheels break loose than when they are spinning and spinning fast is no better than spinning slow. Spinning fast is much better for breaking parts! Once the wheels break loose, the best option is to let off the gas until they stop spinning and them increase slowly.

Nice pics and I am glad to see it all worked out. Once that warranty is toast you gotta pull the trigger on the rancho kit/SOA rear! I know you have said thats a possible plan in the future. Once I test mine and all goes well I will gladly help you when the time comes. Just wanna make sure that its a badass setup before you set it up that way.

Hey Chris, you are right on about that! The solution that you and a handful of others are trying to main stream has the potential of raising the reputation of the H3 to a whole new level in the 4X4 community. One of these days every other offroaded H3 may be in an SOA configuration. When I eventually get around to it, your advise will be invaluable.

That is sound advise about the spinning and subsequent slamming down of the tire. In my case, I don't recall feedback from the vehicle about a spinning wheel, just a lack of progress after high centering on the rear. The truck was actually relatively level at the time. But, without a right front camera, I can't say it wasn't - you could be right! The KM2s would definitely improve my traction on rocks/ dirt/ mud. But, I really need to get more elevation. My next tires need to be 35s. Thanks for the offer though! :)

I ran many trails in my H3 before raising the front end and adding 35" tires and was very pleased with what the H3 was capable of. ( Cleghorn, 2N17X, LCC, Mojave Trail, Anza Borrega among others ) If you aren't in a position to do those things at the moment don't let it keep you from running these trails.

Yes, the only cost associated with cranking the torsion bars is the cost of an alignment. Also, if you can't afford 35s right away you can get my 33” KM2s cheep. My wife wants them out of the garage! My 305/70R16 KM2’s are wider than what you have and they have a more aggressive tread.

What's your asking price for the KM2's?

Maybe it would be more appropriate if I started a WTS thread for the tires in the swap meet section.
