eBay crossrails

Has anyone bought a set of the oem look-a-like crossrails for the roof? They look like they have a little different mounting system that only hooks under one side of the factory track.... I have aftermarket rails on mine and the stick up kinda high. I was looking at these cause the oem rails are lower profile but I question the strength of the mounting system... Hunners crossbar mod is irrelevant with theses since the mounting system I'd different from the true oem crossbars....

they hook with a T- bar that connects to the divots in the tracks (keeps them from sliding front/back when they're locked)

I have a set that I'd sell cheap :)

Any pics? I'll have to take a closer look at my tracks and look for the divots... I've never noticed em before... Santa brought me a roof basket but with the current rails I have, it'll sit way high off the roof. Which equals less chance of flexing and hitting the roof... But Hunner doesn't seem to have any problem with his Rola and all the weight he puts up there.

There's a bunch on eBay... They look decent but none of the mounting systems look like what's in Hunners thread in the tech section. May have to just throw $100 out there and see.

Do they fit in the tracks pretty well? I've heard some of the aftermarket ones don't sit right... If there's a way to find out what shipping would be to 62220, I may take em off your hands. I might go ahead and order another set too so I can put 3 up there to give the megawarrior a little extra support. It's 74" long with the extension and I plan to use it for camping gear and such....

I bought a set of the $60 specials that were around a while back.

They met my expectations.......You get what you pay for.

Mine were to supplement the existing OEM bars for carrying longer items......They work well for that and/or for aesthetics.

I did find that they seated better if you got them positioned and locked down first, then did the final tightening of the bars to the mounting feet.

(hope that made sense)

interesting, my answer didn't make the final switch... no worries

they rattle, like every last one of them - but you can fix the rattle if you take them off and adjust them (it requires some effort)... that said, they're pretty strong, I carried 4 full suspension mountain bikes on them (with bike rails) and they didn't flex at all

I did read the response that didn't make it... I too responded... Did you find another type of crossrail since these made a rack sit too high? I have to see if the bars of the basket line up with the notches in the tracks. I'd like to use 3 rails but I dint know if the spacing will allow 3 to line up... Im thinking of ways to make it work and I guess I could always file new notches in the track....

I'm running three cross bars now.

Three fit fine and space out well......Four will fit, but look like ass.

I did a little measuring on the floor and got 3 spaced out evenly. I put the center of the rack on the center crossrail mark. I only have the center extension for the basket. The rest is on backorder. The way the megawarrior mounts is with clamps in the center of its bars... The front and back crossrail may not fall in the center of 2 bars. I wanna put 3 rails on the basket and set it up on the roof. I know the center rail will line up with a notch but don't know about the front and back rails. I might have to file new notches into the rail for those... Depending on where they fall.

Here's the thread Gunner and I ended up discussing these http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php?5275-Roof-Rack

I never posted my final results, but for the price I'm very happy with the eBay roof rack. They've held up fine for the bunch of different things I've thrown up there. They're nice and low too. CAM00493.jpg

I thought at one time someone popped in and said they worked for the place that made the ones seen on Ebay and that they also made the OEM, they just could not sell them with the Hummer letters already installed, and of course price!

Does anyone have pictures or know any difference in OEM and these?

I thought they were the same except for price.

Ive looked at several of the eBay versions and they all seem to be the same. They look like the have the j-hooks and the locking lever...
