Diy Move Rear Bumper Review

I finally got to talk to the tech today at MoveBumpers about getting a rear bumper for the H3 made, and I brought up some ideas about branching it out to replace the plastic trim by the fender(like bebe's H3), and he was all about it.

He said for about 100$ more he could make that a possibility, from 475$-575$. He said that since this is the first DIY Move rear bumper for the H3 he wants me to help him design it.

I told him that it has to beable to fit a 37" spare and keep the factory tow point.

Any ideas on how to make the bumper better would be great and i'll convey them to him. And when I get pictures of how it will look i'll post them up.

For anyone who hasn't seen the front bumper DIY thread, it comes in pieces that you weld together yourself using your rig as a jig, so that everything fits properly.

Does he have a rig to go off or would it benefit if I drove up to them and check out their bumpers and let them take measures?

My first choice is the top one since for the looks of it it either cuts or deletes the need of the plastic side panels which can become scratch as well what tire sizes would it be the maximum

37" spare maybe more with 1"BL and flipping the mount.

I like it. the areas that replace the plastic above the bumper is kind of ugly, but it looks like that part could be used as a step, so that's handy.

it ships unassembled and unpainted, is that right?

I'd like a 38" inch tire, but on a swing out tire carrier. I wonder if they could add that as an option or if I could just make it myself........

^^^ I agree with this. A swing away tire carrier might be interesting in combination with tube doors (all 5). ;)

I'm sure it could just be made, but they say they can do anything so I don't see why not. As for the sides, looks like a perfect place for a firestick or flag carrier. Any suggestions that could replace the "ugly" part?

if the part that looks like a step was a bit smaller and didn't stick out as far it would be less ugly. the move bumper looks like it doesn't stick out as far compared to Bebe's though.

I don't think they are ugly but rather the perfect place to finally bolt on my military vehicle antennas.

If they make a tire carrier that would be great but if not I'd fab one or make one work from a Nissan Pathfinder or similar.
As well I really like the light holes, it would be nice to light up the rear when backing out in the dark

Top design looks good except it should follow the fender line straight down and not angled to look cleaner. Any idea when these would be available and what about a group buy to lower price?

I question the need for a tire carrier when we have a stock one that will hold a 40....recons is stock and holds a 40. If it's too much weight id be weary. These hummers do not need any more weight then they already have

Weight so far, order has been made but not processed or shipped. But I can figure it out for sure on Monday.

i'm guessing that weight was for the smaller design but the bigger one couldn't be much more than another 20-40lbs..

Still a bit confused, it sticks out less than the oem plastic, the design is supposed to be "clean and add clearance", but I guess since the rendering isnt on a h3 in that pic we're going to have to wait until i've made it.
