Blacks Protesting all over USA

I thought the protests in general went fairly well. Ferguson obviously didn't but across the country it was generally uneventful. I think this grand jury was especially cautious and most Americans accepted the verdict as the valid product of the world's best legal system. Some were always going to believe Michael Brown was the big innocent no matter what the evidence said. Some were going to use the decision to justify the mayhem they wanted to inflict and really were just using the incident as the trigger. And then there is Al Sharpton, the tragedy profiteer and muckraker already doing his normal thing.

Yeah, let's display our indignation and show how good and innocent our kind is...by setting thing in fire and vandalizing...this would send the right message.

If you are just looking for an excuse and not truth, well, there you go. Don't want to get shot then don't be a criminal, don't mouth off to cops, don't threaten or attack cops, don't dare them to shoot you while being aggressive. Obviously this holds true for every skin color. Big difference, when a black cop kills a white thug you don't get riots and looting.

I've seen posts on nearly every forum I've been on. I'm amazed how divided the country is on this specific case, I know police brutality is an issue in this country, but if you reach for a police officer's gun, you are not going to walk away from it unscathed.

Elements were going to jump to Brown's defense regardless of whether he was an altar boy or a thug. The fact he was on video robbing a store shortly before the incident leads me to believe he was no altar boy. Unfortunately he also was not smart enough to decide not to attack a LEO. What did he expect would happen? Who knows because I am not stupid enough to make the decisions he did. I have now read enough about this to believe that the grand jury, at least in this case, got it right.

What a ****ing angry world. Not a very intelligent way to advance a cause, whatever the hell it may be. You can carry the a chip on your shoulder for only so long before the weight of it brings you and your cause down. Counterproductive in my humble opinion.

I've had this discussion with many of my black friends. They will never advance as a people unless they let the past go. I'm not saying to forget their roots but for the love of god STOP using it as an excuse. I have always said, if you are not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about! Brown was a thug who robbed a store then assaulted a police officer, he deserved to get his ass shot IMO. My father in law is an old school cop from back in the day if you ran from the cops they kicked the **** out of you. There's too much ***** footing around in this country. No one should fear the police but everyone should have one hell of a healthy respect for them!

The system is messed up, it makes me very angry that tis happens, send the national guard out there and start using beanbag bullets and handle business, maybe I'm abit harsh but if someone does something super ignorant like riot, I think you should have the option to use non lethal force, batons, beanbag bullets, etc, jus enough to bring someone down and make them realize, "o ****, I shouldn't be doing this" Just my two cents...

The media loves to bring up the shootings in Chicago . I have friends a family that are Chicago cops. The sad truth is they let them shoot each other, and act like animals. The cops could easily go in and bust heads. As long as they stay in the hood, they just go pick up the bodies. When they do it outside the hood, the cops pounce on them. 99.9% of the US population don't act like wild animals. Hey,the last time I checked, there is a black President in the White House. I feel bad for my black friends who are hard working, law abiding people, that get lumped in with these animals. You reach into my car and start assaulting me,it would be the same out come. I'm not a cop,and I would have dropped his ass.

I am revolted every time I tune into social media or the news for that matter when this subject is brought up. I have a colleague I went to school with who is telling his students in Atlanta one word....revolution, my mouth literally dropped. (Not sure i want to call him a colleague anymore) then a post about unleashing the "true black anger" my thoughts were no way you should be teaching this to students.

As far as I'm concerned, dress like a thug, act like a thug, I'm going to treat you like a thug. If you're going to preach violence, expect it in return.

I think it should also be pointed out this grand jury was appointed before this shooting even happened. And I'm pretty sure that what one witness described as "he full on charged at the officer" more than adequately justifies the use of deadly force.

Perhaps when obummer is out of office peace will resume or head back in a better direction.

I don't like that cops have so much power. they can really screw people over legally, or just enough that they don't get caught. In this case, it seems like the cop handled the situation less than professionally. That doesn't change the fact that a very large man attacked him and he had to shoot. You don't attack cops, that's just stupid.

The other thing that bothers me is that when a black person gets accused of a crime, a huge, militant group of other black people defend that person regardless of that person's guilt. It happened with OJ Simpson and just about every other cop shooting a black person. They make the person who got shot look like a perfect angel who never did anything wrong. It just doesn't make sense. If I was black, I would want criminals to be punished so that I wouldn't look bad. I wouldn't want to defend every person ever who was black. That's a victim mentality and it's silly.

I live just across the border from st. louis.... This is ridiculous and outta hand. It's always unfortunate when someone loses a life regardless of race. People can say Wilson overreacted all they want. The point is, Brown engaged an officer of the law and assaulted him. It was Wilson's duty to see it through. Not just back down and let Brown carry on with such thuggish behavior. Many people have mixed feelings about the police and their "power" but that doesn't give them the right to act however they want. I blame the parents. They raised a thug that had no respect for society. "Gentle giant" my ass. He not only shoplifted but strong-armed the clerk in doing so. He assaulted an officer of the law. Why? Cause a cop told him to get outta the middle of the street? No respect.... For whatever reason, these people have a sense of entitlement that they think everyone has to move around them. Walk through a mall that is frequented by black youth... I bet not one of them will move over and say excuse me. Same with schools. Same with highways... Common courtesy is completely gone. I hate bringing up that it's a black vs white thing but one can't help stereotype these days based on observations and statistics. It's sad because the only people they're hurting is themselves. Burning down their own neighborhoods. What gets me is that society is supposed to stand by and watch this crap all in the name of "peaceful protest"... Shutting down highways and intersections is completely ridiculous. Now law enforcement is walking on eggshells around these people in fear of sparking another confrontation. The videos I've watched on social media are disgusting. Mobs attacking white kids just cause they're white. These kids are absolutely outta control. There is no organization in the protest. It's a free for all and these people are opportunists... They don't care that they're looting from a black business owner or they've burned down the AutoZone they just bought parts from 2 days ago. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's sad to see what's going on. I know plenty of police officers most of them are good some of them act like they are "GOD". In this situation the kid attacked the police officer that you don't do. Me personally If a criminal is coming towards me to attack me I would shoot in the shoulder, arm, leg etc unless I had no choice I would shoot to kill. & people destroying property you don't solve anything by doing that there's other ways to express anger

If you wallow in mud, expect to get dirty.... If one is stupid enough to try and grab a police officers gun,"Remember, he was not doing so to admire it" then you will get your just deserts. I am sick of the Blacks," the small percentage" that are continuously bringing their own down. Like previously mentioned, there is a Black President..... Let it go already... Just about every race at one time has been victimized or brutalized, but one has to let it go at some point and move on. Yeah, and Al Sharpton and Louis Eugene Walcott "Louis Farrakhon" are two people I wish would be led to the border and escorted out of our fine country...

They play the victim.... And everyone tries to make a martyr out of them. What would have happened if Brown had gotten Wilson's gun and fatally shot the officer... What would the boys parents say to that? Nothing... They would not accept responsibility for their sons actions. They would again blame the police for "instigating" the confrontation.

Shoot in the shoulder? Arm? Leg? If you can shoot to disable, you shouldn't be shooting.

there's no way to shoot that accurately in defensive shooting. you either shoot to kill or you don't shoot at all. that's the surest way to hit AND stop the bad guy.

i agree. wilson shot a few sets of shots outside his suv. he said it time he shot, he saw at least 1 round struck brown cause he saw the kids body twitch. i think the last shot, the one that hit brown on the top of his head, was because brown was falling down after already being hit several times. i think its pretty much instinct to aim "center-mass" so wilson was just aiming to stop brown by any means.

Does anyone question the timing of the grand jury reading its findings? Knowing that most riots are more destructive after dark why not wait till 10am the next morning to read it? Seems to me a logical approach to counteract and limit the destructiveness of a mob when they can be identified easily in broad daylight.

IMO the media is mostly to blame. Much more important things are happening that need media focus. When did the media shift from fact checking to sensationalism you may ask? When Jerry springer and Geraldo made money by televising social "drama".

Just my point of view.

In this situation yes I would of shot to kill no time to react a thug is coming towards me in a physical manner. For example if I come into a situation where a man has a knife holding to himself but is refusing your commands of putting the weapon down no I wouldn't shoot him to kill him..

This. I hope I never have to pull my gun, but if I do and the bad guy hasn't backed off or started running by the time it's pointed at him I'm shooting for center mass. Period. Unless your pointing a gun at a stationary person 10' away, intentionally shooting the person attacking or coming at you in the arm/leg is action movie BS.
