Just stopped at the dealership before class. They are really cool....I told em that I had to talk to GM and fight with them to get the price down and the service advisor said he will call and see what he can do...even if he can't get anywhere the offer was super nice. Let's see what he can do.

Ok, I get a call from Jerry stating he can do it for $1400....I was pretty happy seeing I was shell shocked at the original $2900. I tell him to go ahead. Zach calls me 30 minutes later saying he can get it done for way less then that, DAMN IT! I learned my lesson keep my mouth SHUT until I talk to Zach....technically I can pull the H3 out of the dealership and get it done through him for way cheaper but these guys have been good to me and dont wanna be an *******, so I am leaving it at the current dealership. I am just so pist for jumping the gun. Hes the man and could of saved me money but I just went too quick :sigh:

Cant describe how pist I am for doing this...I guess you live and learn so I dont make the mistake again next time.

I don't know Zach's position or setup, and I'm not in anyway saying that was not the way to go because I do not know the details,
but by using the dealer with all things considered and hopefully they have done some, they should provide a warranty on the work they do for any future problems. They sure came down on the final price?
It might look better if you know the price of parts and labor separate to see what you are paying for.
Good luck with all that.

Well here she is just a few days ago. Called the dealership and they will be done in about 1-2 hrs.

Hunner, Zachs place would of been through a dealership in pasadena, about 35 minutes from me. I would have liked to get the cheaper deal to save money but this chevy dealer has been nothing but the best to me. I asked them to cover half and they did. Making me think back, I bet if I asked them to cover labor and I cover the parts ($800) they probably would have. To pull the deal from them would of been wrong on my part. While I spent a bit more now he has also saved my mom a few thousand dollars in repairs on her denali even after the warranty went out. I have nothing but the best to say about this place. Next time I will just wait for zach to get his prices before I ship off to them and then I can do price comparisons...

Well there is the problem all those rags in there!!
I would have made you wash it.:shifty:
Good luck, now you will be somewhat confident to go another 85,000?
I didn't know for sure about Zach's connection but suspected he was maybe at a dealer. Having someone on your side always helps.
Good to know we have a few members "in the business"

Zach thanks again! This is not the first time he has helped me out, it didnt workout for me this time but he has always gotten me parts for a great price and quickly. So cal has a great group of people...H4O as a whole is a great group :)

I got the call shes done. Hopefully they washed her too...lol Will post up how she feels afterwords. I guess I can check "find out and fix cyl 2 misfire" off the Moab to-do list!

got her back! boy does it feel great to be back in the hummer. Every other car I drove this week doesnt even compare...It may be slow but I love driving it.

They also changed the serpentine belt, she has a much better idle...Just a weird exhaust leak type sound at take off, then once I accelerate it goes away. I am gonna look into that...maybe its me being picky. otherwise I am stoked!

Good to hear...The peace of mind now that the engine is better than new again, makes fun of ownership even better.:bb:

Now get the PCM tuned and add the Pulstar plugs and really feel an improvement:thumbs:

So Cal
If you have an issue with an exhaust leak take it back Monday and they need to fix it. Something is not tight or a gasket possibly. Especially since they just worked on it and had it a part

Just read this entire post and the fact that your dealer did "discount" the price and worked with you is great!

Glad to see another dealer working with HUMMER owners on out of warranty issues!

Have a great time in Moab!

Thanks MU! It will be a blast. Im almost ready for moab...

I ended up not having work today due to getting stitches so I stopped by the dealership and the service advisor agreed it sounded like an exhaust leak. He wants the shop foreman to deal with it but he already left so next week im going to take him on a test drive and figure out what it is. That chevy place treats me so well. He even wants some pictures of us wheeling in moab. Maybe the pics will make it to the wall by the other GM vehicles :)

I had my head replaced a few months back, ended up I had an exhaust leak afterwards too. Damn little ceramic piece broke! Or something.. Fortunately they covered it. Glad to hear your truck is back in order!

But imma tell ya if you drop in a 5.3 before I catch up to you on your other upgrades, you and I are gonna have a fight haha!

You all have me worried again... I had brushed this all under the carpet last time someone said they had this issue. My VIN is 195xxx and I'm rounding 89K miles. Thanks everyone for paving the way for me if I do run into trouble down the road.

Thanks HII. Cant wait to meet everyone! Got the hummer back today. There was a loose bracket by the alternator that was causing the rattle. They tightened that up and did a run through on the 3, everything from the dealer standpoint is done! I can cross off A LOT of things off my list for moab now...All I have left is ordering the steering rack, driveshaft, finish the UCP and a few aesthetics then im moab bound!!!!!

Guys, it sounds like I am having the same issues. Going through Coolant but there is no leak, slight misfire at idle, and ive noticed my MPG's drop down to about 10.... There is a slow leak seeping out of the head gasket seal, I wonder if mine is bad too. Headed back to the dealership on monday...

Time for a road trip! Let's see how close you can cut it :giggle:

You cut it even closer than I did! I was at 98,000 and was stoked I got a new head before the 100K powertrain warranty ran out. I doubt anyone will get any closer to 100K than you.
