So I went up to DFW over the weekend to meet some Colorado owners and had a great time (they all loved the T). I meet Ivan and he had a nasty 2 door 3.7L with a 3" header all the way to that tail pipe and billet servos in the transmission. This thing was a little rocket and the servos kicked pretty hard and made the wheels chirp 2nd and 3rd gear. So because I'm behind the CQ desk for 24 hours I've been doing a lot or research and getting some great info.

Just wanted to know if anyone has done this before and it seems to be pretty simple with some pors as keeping the fluid a somewhat cooler temp, some said it helps with a lift with larger tries and can help the transmission life span. Also I found someone in the ares that plugs his laptop into the OBD2 port and receives real time info and can flash the the PCM and TCM right there on the spot. If I get this kit and re-flash could I be able to hit 17 MPG on the street or is the servos something that wouldn't help us?

The 2-4 servo will help with firmness on the 1-2 and 3-4 shift and also has a larger area for more holding power on the band which engages in 2nd and 4th. I did the "corvette" servo which is only about $20. I'm pretty sure there is enough clearance to do this in the vehicle.

I have a pretty snappy 1-2 shift now. Not sure what contributed more, the servo or the 1-2 accumulator spring that was in my parts tranny. I plan to compare those when I ever pull the pan again.

I orderd the servo off of amazon by the way but bulkpart.com also has it and easy shipping from AL.

I did the raptor upgrade on my 1500's 700R4 a few years ago and loved the superior billet servo. That transmission upgrade made that 383 stroker scream down the road. I chirped in the first two gears driving with normal acceleration.

I've been doing some more research and have come up with a boat load of owner with the 4L60 after installing servo kits the trans kicks the bucket after few thousand miles.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it do more harm than good to have a hard shift? When you have all for tires wrapped around rocks trying to climb a hill in low & locked, that hard shift has to go some where since the tires can't "chirp". A slushy auto is better for crawling like a manual tranny. Ease into the gears and save the banging for the racers. Just my .02

You bring up a very good point, from what I have gotten together is that all trans are set up for a 60 year old grany so the shift points are softer. Now for towing the kit can keep the RPM's in the lower 1,000's so it's not over heating up hills. To beat that just keep it in 3rd gear and take it easy up the hills, when I was pulling 5,000 lbs on top of my truck weight (10,620 lbs) for 1,3XX miles this was a simple task. So I think it would be better to install this kit in a new trans for the going up hills I can totally see what your talking about.
