So I paid the balance of my HummerDan RPP, and they should be ready for pick up with a week or so. I know HummerDan helped install RonB's RPP, not sure if he is able to help me out install them.

So I'm wondering if anyone in SoCal can help me install them? I would install them myself but by the sounds of it, the weight of these bad boys won't be fun to deal with by myself. as well as the space I have to available to me install them is a triangular shaped driveway attached to an alleyway. the Hummer fits lengthwise but barely width wise. so I am not comfortable working on the rockers there. I'm hoping I can maybe drive to someone's place/shop and then we install them. maybe we could make a wrenching meet out of it.

Beer and Food will be provided by this very thankful Hummer owner :)

Thanks,
Matt

Isn't that hard to install but you need a floor jack, two is better. Mike might let you use the Tustin back lot for the install. Don't remember the bolt and hex nut sizes you need. Biggest part is pulling your interior apart to access the interior bolt heads, unless you have the bolt bars, which I doubt on a 95. You will have to remove your rear seats and some of the rear trim panels. On the front you can just peel the flooring mat back. Depending on when you want to do it I can help. My issue is that I will be in Texas for all but just a couple of days for the balance of the year.

I know I can do it alone. it would just be so much safer having the help of other(s)

Well they're not ready for pick up yet, so I have no timeline in place.

But if I could get some help that would be amazing!

in the mean time I shall have to look through the Blue Hummer maintenance manual and familiarize myself with the RPP installation/removal.

I'll make a post after I get my HummerDan RPP. might be able to get a couple of my friends to help. biggest problem I have is not having a good location to install them.

Thank You, I'd still want to at least buy whoever helps me some lunch/dinner as a thank you for helping if I do need help.

I agree with Chris, no bribery needed. Maybe get Mikkel and some other SoCal guys together and make an event out of it.

If you are going to do it order the bolt bars. It makes the install and any other removal or reinstall so much easier. All four only cost about $80.00.

Is the install pretty straightforward Dave?

I've never done an H1 rpp install but I'm sure I can figure it out. I gotta get practice especially if I'm gonna need to install my own one day :)

Keep me posted... I have HummerDan RPP on my truck. Depending on when you would want to do this, I'd be happy to help. Rest of this year is going to be tough time wise though

Two guys and 2 floor jacks make it easier. Let me know, I'm just down the street from you, I'm sure Franco will give a hand as well.

I got a heavy floor jack at my storage unit we can use. Have you already removed your old RPP? Those suckers can become seized, I had to cut a few bolts off mine and use new hardware to install the HummerDan units.

Thank you for the tip! I'm placing an order with HPG, I'll just add those to it.

This will be good practice!

That would be awesome if you could help! considering the time, I'm going to guess January would work best for most.

Thank You! that would be nice if possible.

I have a 3ton Floor Jack, and I have yet to remove the factory ones. Would it be better to remove them before the installation day?

I'm waiting on word on when they'll be ready to pick up then i can start to plan when to install them.

So I really don't know when/if this is going to happen.

If you need a place to install them, I can check with my buddy in aqua dolce, he has a ranch with a machine shop, its where I work on my H1 from time to time. I have a new rear bumper I need to install as well :)

ran into a snag, was going to pick up the rockers today But didn't even think about the length being too long for a wagon. if the length of HummerDan Rockers are about the same and or a little longer than factory rockers than it will be about 8 inches too long to fit in my wagon (the A/C unit aft of the doghouse is in the way and I think the HummerDan rockers would crush the housing. It is fairly strong since one of the Hutchinson wheels with MT/Rs was resting on it when I picked them up (due to the fact I didn't strap them down, one slid forward and was resting on the A/C unit about halfway and on another wheel/tire) but I don't think strong enough for the rockers.

So now my dilemna is if I pick them up then I might have to leave the ambulance doors (a.k.a. barn doors) open enough to have them stick out while driving from the San Gabriel Valley back to Burbank. Also I had originally planned on keeping them in the truck until installation but I can't keep the rear doors open with the rockers sticking out until then.

So now I am thinking of ways how to possibly make this work:

-pick em up, have em stick out the back doors then store them in my garage somehow until installation.
-rent a u-haul trailer to pick em up, store them in my garage somehow until installation
-see if one of my buddies with a truck can come with me to pick them up then store in my garage somehow until installation
-maybe see if HummerDan can help me install them at his place if I remove my rockers before heading over.

Any thoughts/ideas?
