Now that im getting my rig to where i want it to be. (i still have to purchase ucp, rock sliders, & roof lights) now i want to take it off-road and meet some of you guys. Im a novice/never been off-road before. Im from New Jersey and there aren't many places to go off-roading over here. I've heard great things about Rausch Creek and is only a couple of hours drive away (which is not bad at all) and i really would like to go...

I learned alot from you guys from reading your posts. But any more info that you guys can give me i would really appreciate it..................thanks

There is a Rausch creek event coming up soon. Check the area. Otherwise, make your way out to So Cal and we will show you a great time wheeling. We pose on more than one rock.

LOL, Very true! I would say talk to Hans3T, Recon, Ron46 (when his life gets back in order) and some other east coasters

I really enjoyed Hans getting put on some tougher trails with the guidance from Recon. He never really had that before with other mentors...With that said they can teach you a lot!

Solar and quite a few others are up your way. Rausch Creek is a good place to start since they have trails rated from novice to very difficult.

I agree with the others. Go with some of the fellas mentioned above. But, I think you should get you some UCP, then Rock Rails, then worry about the lights. Protect the belly, then the rocker panels.. That way you can come down on stuff and smile instead of wincing.. But if you let the fellas know that you dont have any protection under there, they wont take you through anything that will destroy or hurt your truck.

Hi Ad,
The next event to Rausch Creek is planed on Dec. 8-9.

There are few novices are going, including me. My belly is open also, but I will try to scrape some money to get at least an UCP. The group will most likely split up on "take it easy" and "all out". So, I was promised that even without UCP our rigs will be able to get home afterwards.

Ed, yeah you should try and tag along to the RC run in December if you can.... Also just have to say, Art its not excatly a promise-its more of a we will very much try and are willing to separate into whatever groups we need to to accommodate vehicle and skill level differences...but "promise" is a tough one, any level of offroading can have consequences.
