I have the LCD BacPac and I really like it. It lets you see what you're recording. Although my polarized sunglasses sometimes get in the way.

I really want the WiFi BacPac :link: . The link posted above is for the WiFi Bac-Pac and remote for $99, but if you're planning to use the GoPro App* on a smart phone or tablet you don't need the remote so you can just get the WiFi BacPac by itself and save $40.

*NOTE: A product update is REQUIRED before using your Wi-Fi BacPac or Remote. Click here :link: for a free update download. The original HD HERO is only compatible with the Wi-Fi Remote. The original HD HERO does not support the GoPro App, video + photo preview / playback, or live streaming. Live video streaming to the web is available for the HD HERO2 with a free future downloadable product update. Wireless internet connection required; additional fees may apply. The Wi-Fi Remote does not require a Wi-Fi network as it creates its own Wi-Fi network. Supports iOS 4 and Android OS 2.2 and newer devices. Specifications are subject to change without notice. Your mileage may vary. Don't try this at home!

A wireless remote would be a cool feature. Especially since many of the best mounting locations are out of reach from the driver's seat.

Yes, but remote control and live video preview on a smart phone or tablet is even more useful and $40 cheaper. I already have a bracket on my dash for my smart phone, so I will be able to watch the video and decide when to start and stop recording.

Does anyone have the Android app? Was looking for it and can't find it yet. I wonder if it is out yet? Or does it come with the BacPac? I had a couple amazon gift certificates so I just ordered the gopro hero2, motorsports edition. I forgot the SD card though.

The app for IOS and Android is not out yet. The GoPro web site says it is due Fall 2012 :link: I'm pretty sure that back in July it said August, but now it says Fall.

Here is another site that discusses the app schedule and abilities. :link:

I sent an email to GoPro Customer Support and here is the response I got.

I picked up the wifi bacpac and remote from best buy when I got the SD card. Can't wait for the app. May play with it at the drag strip tonight.

The I phone app is out. The android one has not been released yet. Hopefully the android one comes out. The new hero3 is out, with built in wifi.

The Hero III is awesome. The Black model is designed for professional use. I'd love to get it but I refuse to give GoPro any more money until I get my WiFi app for Android.
