I started looking for a good front shox through fox. They are just too expensive. Just for 1 side the channel that mounts to the bottom of the shock and to the A arm cost 30$ just for 1. I'm currently working on some spring overs to eliminate the Tbars. Won't be for a long time though.

I meant kit as in shackle and links. 4 fox shocks for 325 is impossible! Spring over as in solid axle up front?

No not SFA. I meant coil over sorry. It's going to have to be a shock hoop, new upper A-arm and coil overs.

Something like this.

I have bilstein front shocks and RD Fox 2.0 rear. Great ride & flex - kind of like having an off road cadillac

Ive decided that im going to put in some bilstein resovoir shocks in the front and just normal bilsteins in the rear. Hopfully this year I can upgrade to the RD fox shocks in the rear. Ill post pictures of this when its done. It will be interesting since I was told resovoir shocks couldnt be installed on the H3 by several people. I guess we will find out

I plan to drive it on pavement for 200 miles or so see how it drives then take it out to the same dirt road out to the hot springs I noticed the problem on last time. Ill write back as soon as possible. Oh i will also test the flex etc. M22KLARS I noticed you have a scangauge II in your rig. Would you recommend one?

YES! It's one of the best mods I've purchased! I even bought 2 extra cables. The one that came with the unit I have ran and mounted in my H3, the second one I ran and Mounted in my DD and the third one I keep in my garage so I can run codes for other people.

Honestly, I've been watching ebay and craigslist for a second one so I can monitor 8 gauges at once instead of just 4. (not that monitoring only 4 gauges is bad... But we all know more is better :))

Fox shocks are supposed to be valved differently than other brands of shocks to avoid heat issues. But the proof is in the pudding and I guess we will find out soon!

I've ordered a set of 4. Likely more shock than I need but after my research and discussing shocks with some well respected builders, I decided on the Fox/Rod Hall/Samco shocks. Fox has the order. I expect them in a few weeks. My specific needs may be a little different than most...I wanted to retain my OEM set up (no lift) but still be able to handle rocky terrain like on Drummond Island. Tim @ Expedition Hardware has been good to work with.

Im interested to see what you think of them. Hopefully mine work out when I get them this week but if not Ill be looking hard at some RD rear fox shocks and some fox front shocks as well

I went with the KYB set up.....have been extremely happy with them for the past 2 weeks. I almost went with Bilsteins but I know a few people that have bought them, and they are not happy with the way they let the body roll around corners.
We'll see how these hold up over the long run. I purchased them through Partsgeek.com and saved about $30 a shock, compared to local parts stores.

Got em installed yesterday. So far I can tell a big difference on road but have yet to take them down washboards. We will see how they fare. Here are some pics

You're gonna hate them. Better let me take them off your hands!

Looking forward to see how they work out for you.

Post up some more info on those front Bilsteins and what part number. Looks like that solves the problem of the res mounted in the shock tower. Did you find them online?
I have been on and off on a little different design to use up front but I am still searching for what I want to try with the correct mounts or adapters.
Gotta stay busy!:shifty:

Ok so forgive the iphone pictures here some are somewhat blurry. A mounting bracket was bolted onto the wheel well. From there the reservoir was mounted and tightened down. I was at first skeptical of this setup but it seems pretty sturdy from messing with it a bit and taking it on some larger bumps on dirt roads. Here are some pictures. What do yall think? Note first picture is looking at the wheel well. Second is looking from underneath the truck. The black part is whats mounted to the wheel well and the third is the bolt on the other side

So I took the truck out over some longer dirt roads this weekend. The improvement is massive over what I was running before and they seem to say with the same cushion throughout the drive

Shocks came in yesterday. Hope to have them installed this weekend. Tim @ Expedition Hardware was easy to work with.
